It's something that I have for many years availed of - in earlier years when trying to save for the future or planning towards retirement. More recently when retirement date eventually arrived I needed someone who could navigate me through the correct process @ pension funds and how to get the best product to take me from salaried income to dependance on a Pension.

David - like his father before - offers sound advice, is aware of my needs and requirements. He offers an easy to understand explanation of all transactions or changes. The attention to detail either at annual updates or during the rest of the year leave me with little or no concerns in David's ability to advise me accurately regarding a secure future wealth plan.

I have no understanding of Stocks and Shares or some of the other financial issues relating to my late husbands estate. I gave David as much information as I could and he liaised with the family solicitor appropriately David explained how he converted the stocks and shares into ethical investments, he showed me in detail on a screen protection

David took time to find out about my background, interests and lifestyle and then carried out a very detailed financial analysis on my current and future spending needs. I didn't feel rushed or under any obligation at this (or any) stage of the engagement process. When I completed the very detailed expenditure questionnaire I was shown how making decisions now such as how leasing a new or buying second-hand car could impact on my available resources in the longer term. David also took time to explain the differences between fund managers (and how they structure portfolios), active and passive funds and differences between investment platforms. If he was unsure of something then he would check it out and very promptly follow up after our meetings.

What could they have done better?

I would have appreciated a fairly detailed but easy to understand general guide to investing terminology e.g. active funds / passive funds / when does it make more sense to use one investment platform over another etc.

I had series of meeting with David Gibson. Initially he gave me an overview of the services he could provide and the financial houses that would/might be involved in any potential investment I might be interested in. He also took stock of my financial situation and offered to provide a "pie-chart" of growth/depreciation of my capital for the forthcoming years taking into consideration the way my capital was invested. He then made clear that there risks involved with investments and briefly outlined the various portfolios on offer. On numerous occasions he was at pains to point out that if I was to make an investment - no monies was passed thro' his accounts. He advised that I take some to time to consider my move. Having decided that I wanted to make some sort of investment I met again with David and this time I had a fully comprehensive risk assessment followed by a more detailed overview of suitable portfolios. Again he explained which financial companies/houses my investment would be spread across if I went ahead and the FSA cover they had. I was advised of their fee and also his. He suggested I should take thinking time before deciding. Rang him my decision before meeting him again. Paperwork was ready, all relevant points and fact detailed Sorry for the ""story" but the whole experience was comfortable, smooth and reassuring. No pressure and felt I was aware of all the facts/pitfalls

He is very efficient in dealing with the paperwork and in keeping in touch. We very much like the way he will prompt us either that action is required or there are other topics which we need to consider.

Myself and my mum went to see David about mums finances. My mum has never had to deal with finances as my dad always looked after investments etc. Mum was understandably very nervous as she was unsure what to do. David sat with us, made us feel very comfortable and before he made any recommendations about what to do he asked mum many questions to ascertain what exactly she wanted from him and his company. He listened intently and showed a real interest in mum as a person and not just a client. He did not push to sell this or that, and mum got exactly what she wanted - we receive regular updates and are able to contact David without any problem. In short he was knowledgable, respectful, professional and friendly. An exceptional all round service!
