He was a great help not only with investment advice but also managed to find a pension from when I had previously been made redundant .

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

When I first contacted Alex, the returns (on my savings) available on the high street were pitiful and I wanted to make my money work harder for me and my family. I also wanted to make sure I had adequate protection for my family in the event of a serious accident / critical illness. We also wanted to invest some money for our children so that they could have a helping hand onto the housing ladder at some point. There was also the question of university and determining the best way of funding that.

Alex spent some time getting to understand exactly what it was that we were seeking to achieve in the near, medium and longer term. He then developed a strategy to help us achieve that. We took money out of very low interest rate accounts and moved it into Stocks & shares ISAs, alongside the money from our under performing endowments. We also overhauled our family approach to life assurance etc.

Yes. Alex's advice has enabled to see significant growth in our savings over the last 5 years or so, all within a tax efficient wrapper, whilst being able to fully support our daughter through university without impacting on our standard of living.

Alex looked for the best deal around, this can be tricky as I am a director of a company so my earnings can be up and down, but my wife has a well paid job that gives a good regular income. Alex found a few deals that matched what we wanted and then we decided which one suited us best with regards to fixed term.

I am not sure there was anything that could have been done better Alex kept us updated with how things were progressing by email, and we were able to answer any questions that he needed answers to either by email or giving him a call.

We were initially looking for a new mortgage, having become dissatisfied with the company that we'd mortgaged with previously.

We were recommended to Alex by a local estate agent and he did not dissappoint. We first used Alex for our first mortgage, he went above and beyond to get us the best deal possible given our poor credit score at the time, and got us a great deal that we never had imagined being able to get, we had been told by several other advisors that we would not get a mortgage at such a good rate yet somehow Alex managed to get it through for us. We then needed to re-mortgage as we bought a new larger house and again Alex was brilliant at sorting this for us. Professional and efficient, and always at the end of an email or call to answer any questions.
