What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My initial contact was for Pension advice during Covid and Nick helped me make a very important decision about the direction of my pension and when to make the move to get the maximum benefit.

I can't think of anything. Nick has always called me, e-mailed me and put me in touch with any other team members at PK.

My previous IFA was not of an acceptable standard. Lacked time and interest. Not a people person. I new of Nick through a long term business contact, and an initial chat has become a long term relaionship.

Nick takes the time and interest to learn the full range of our finances. His advice has taken into account all of our income and expenditure, and as a result is more suited to our requirements. Also, the reassurance of having someone like Nick is worth a great deal.

The outcome for which that many of were hoping was scuppered by Covid/War/UK Economic problems..... But, we are content that our position is as good as it could be in the real world.

Apart from changing World affairs - not much!!

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

In anticipation of early retirement, 6 years ago, I needed financial advice regarding the consolidation of my various pensions, and how to deal with the planning.

How has Nick Broughton helped you?

Nick gave me solid advice, some of which seemed at the time to fly in the face of "popular wisdom", and he was indeed correct. He was able to consolidate my various pensions on my behalf and has subsequently reviewed my needs and status regularly, and efficiently.

I am very happy with the outcomes seen to date. Nick has been on top of any changes needed and market conditions as well.

For my needs, nothing.

Had some savings ,pensions that we needed help with.After being left high and dry by previous adviser (retirement) our solicitor recommended Prosser Knowles.

Nick has been there to advise both my husband and I the best way forward with all our finances. Since my husbands death Nick has been very supportive to me . When my husband was given a terminal diagnosis (2015) my husband wanted to make sure everything was in place to support me .Nick went out of his way to see my husband,go through things with him and do what was needed to ensure my husband was satisfied that all was in place.This help and support has continued with myself.He will always explain things so that I am comfortable with what is being done to ensure I have no worries as to my financial planning long term and also that I have enough to support myself,pay bills etc.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Most definitely.I am able to top up my pensions (state and profession) from my investments. My investments have grown and even after an unprecedented year they have recovered.

What could they have done better?

I don't feel there is anything. Nick has continued to stay in contact, check that I am financially solvent and has gone through my investments either on the phone or Zoom.

A small legacy from my Father many years ago. Mr. K .Prosser advised me then.

Previous IFA company changed ownership. Service became worse than average, and personal treatment was very lacling from new MD.

Undertook a total review of our circumstances and pension pots, and, only then, gave sound advice. Not only does Nick ask relevant questions, but (unlike some advisors) he actually listens to the answers given by his clients. This has always made his advice and suggestions more informed and useful.

Within the limits of common sense and the economy, we are faring a little better than we could have sensible hoped.
