Initially, we didn't have a great credit rating due to historic debt that we wanted to pay off with equity in our property with a remortgage and then work to rebuild our credit rating. We would not have been able to just get a mortgage from a high street lender and needed someone who knew the market and could help us secure a mortgage without further affecting our credit score.

How has Adrian Pepper helped you?

Adrian knew the right mortgage lenders that would provide mortgages to people with poor credit and he got us the best deal on a fixed term which has transformed our credit score and has just recently that fixed period ended and again, Adrian helped us remortgage with a better deal.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Most definitely. Without Adrian's help in securing that initial mortgage we would not have been able to move forward. Now Adrian has helped us with a remortgage and will be dealing with our pensions going forward.

Nothing to add here. Adrian spends a lot of time explaining what is being offered with pros and cons. He is always available and responds quickly to any queries. He is great keeping you informed of progress.

I felt that whilst I had managed a lot of my own financial investments for most of my working years, I have had a tendency to be impulsive and short term in my decisions, this has often led to poor returns and many wasted hours. In these increasingly uncertain times I decided that guidance was sensible for some of my portfolio and that I should put that in the hands of a professional with an overview of global markets and politics.

Adrian has always given a good deal of well informed advice and I feel he has kept me up to date of any changes that might negatively impact on my investments. His recommendations and guidance have allowed me to adopt a more pragmatic approach to those investments.

We had savings in various banks and ISA's as well as two private pension schemes that we needed advice on the best way to deal with them all

he offered advice on my partners works pension from many years ago. This enabled her to make the decision to draw down the pension and to drop her working hours from 5 days to 3 days a week. He also moved our ISAs into the (hopefully) better shares options.

Yes. Its all fine and we get yearly updates and occasional telephone advice on things like the Lockdown crisis effect on my pension and whether to invest more money into ISA or pension plan.

I inherited Adrian Pepper at Hoyl after my original advisor closed his business and it was moved over. Subsequently there was a requirement to release pension funds urgently, aged 61

Released pension funds after transferring them to a better provision I. E. The fund was split into separate smaller pots which were more manageable I later requested a Lifetime mortgage product due to a change in personal circumstances and information was provided

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

With regard to the release of pension funds, eventually yes, after 6 months. Hoyl were and still are reluctant for their clients to release pension funds With regard to the Lifetime Mortgage I was advised to downsize instead and I moved house to release funds. This was a cheaper and more secure option albeit far more stressful

What could they have done better?

Perhaps been more generally openly sympathetic to my circumstances, which changed frequently, sometimes due to events outside of my control

Respond within a 24hr period even if it was just to offer an update on where he was with our enquiry. Occasionally I have had to ‘chase’ Adrian but in fairness to him, he has generally been quick to respond if there is any sense of urgency. The covid pandemic is a case in point. A couple of times I called Adrian and he immediately responded and appeared to have relevant information to hand as we spoke. This reinforced my trust in his judgement and further established greater reassurance that my business was valued by him.

We wanted to add to our timber framed cottage and Adrian came highly recommended by a very good friend of ours. The advice we received and his attention to detail was first class. We have recently recommended Adrian to another friend and wouldn't hesitate to do so again if asked by others.

We needed to equity release in order to do building work on our cottage which is timber framed but a part of it is also clay lump, which puts a lot of lenders off because they classify it as 'unconventional' but Adrian stuck with it and tried other companies until he found one who did understand clay lump and lent us what we'd asked for.

Yes, inasmuch as we are having firstly a timber framed garded room built on one end of the cottage and that is in the process of being built now. We hadn't got enough resources of our own, so the equity release money was a godsend.

We couldn't fault his advice and tenacity.
