Ian kindly agreed to meet me for an introductory session and review of my current financial situation (with a focus on retirement options, in the near future). Necessarily, for an initial meeting, only speculative options were discussed. Overall, I found Ian extremely friendly and easy to talk with, and his broad range of knowledge, but, just as important, Ian's immediate review of options and proposed solutions to my future financial well-being, most of which had not occurred to me prior to the meeting, was most impressive. I don't claim to remember the fine details of the options and mechanisms Ian outlined (including with 'worked examples' taking into account the current state of my finances), but I could feel my confidence (initially very low, due to an almost total lack of formal advice received, until very recently) start to improve. I have only just started requesting intial meetings with a select few IFAs (one more to consult), but, based on my experience so far, Ian is already in my 'shorter list' of a very short list of professionals with whom I would be interested to take matters further. Thank you Ian for your time and (clearly extensive) experience of many aspects of financial planning.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Dissatisfaction with previous advisor and the onset of middle-age forcing me to pull head out of sand and consider retirement plans.

How has Ian Batterbee helped you?

Worked with his team to resolve errors made by previous advisor. Gave clear and understandable advice around a complicated tax issue. Recommended a pension transfer better suited to my investment needs.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I am exceptionally happy with the outcome attained.
