What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted to review my portfolio to ensure equal income but lower the risks. Also discuss IHT planning.

How has Ben Taylor helped you?

Ben undertook the review and carefully and succinctly explained the rational for his proposed unit trusts etc. I asked only for a one off review and Ben was careful not to pressure me into a long standing arrangement , just pointing out he could be contacted at any time and explaining the various services he could offer.

I myself approached Ben through word-of-mouth, in order to annuitise two personal pension schemes.

Ben's input became invaluable when one particular scheme, which proved both arcane and archaic in structure, dragged us both into a morass of corporate inertia and delay. In the face of multiple obstacles and frustrations, Ben pursued a resolution with unfailing professionalism, diligence, patience and humour. Critically, he was always available to explain, discuss, or suggest courses of action – there was never a moment I did not feel that my affairs were in good hands.

I am very satisfied to have reached the end of a protracted process with the desired result. Although Ben may not have much appetite for repeating this particular experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. He has my utmost gratitude.

Not satisfied that previous adviser (from a large national company) fully interested in understanding my requirements and meeting my needs.

How has Ben Taylor helped you?

Was aware of Ben via my previous accountant who fully recommended him following discussion concerning my impression of my then adviser lack of interest in my circumstances. Ben took the time and trouble to not only compile the formal information required of him as required by his profession, but to develop a more in-depth understanding of mine and my wife's individual financial circumstances and requirements. In his professional capacity Ben recommended, and subsequently arranged, the transfer of my pension and ISA to a financial service company who, until very recently, had performed well.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

As stated above, the advise and recommendations given by Ben were accepted and the transfer arrangements completed within the given time frames, resulted in improved returns from the previous provider, until recent events which have had the same effects on virtually all of the financial industry.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was unhappy with my then pension provider (a major provider) for a number of reasons when I remembered Ben, who as my allocated adviser with said provider, established a sound rapport and fruitful relationship with me until he left them to become an Independent Adviser. I was a little unsure about going with Ben initially (him being a single operator at that time) so I discussed the whole issue with my accountant who whole heartedly recommended that I go with Ben. That I did and have absolutely no regrets since. As I have limited knowledge regarding pensions and investments and, having known Ben for some time, was confident he would act for me to the very best of his abilities.

How has Ben Taylor helped you?

Ben helped by listening to me regarding my concern over my exsiting pension arrangements and other investments, discussing and establishing my risk levels, researching verious products and providers, discussing pros and cons of those he considered viable within my risk concerns, and drew up a short list from which he recommended, in his opinion, the most suitable provider for the reasons that we then discussed for me to make the final choice, which I did.

Initially thing were good and going in the right direction, however 2020 came along with all its attending issues resulting in a reversal of direction, but no where as bad as I was expecting. Overall the earlier trend was very good, better than I had generally experienced with the previous pension provider, and investment provider (two different organisations).

I really cound not say, I get regular updates regarding both pension and investment activities from the provider, and Ben keeps in contact via email, letter and telephone.

In the first instance I needed to consolidate a number of different pension schemes into one managed plan. I then needed a financial plan put in place to satisfy my requirements for my up coming retirement as well as look at different savings and investment options in order to provide a balanced risk portfolio.

Our previous Financial Adviser retired and Ben took up our portfolios. We needed safe, informed advice on our finances and Ben has certainly provided this. He is now a director of his own company Consolidare Wealth Management Ltd. We feel fortunate to have found Ben.

Ben has been extremely helpful right from the start. Initially, he advised us on our investments in general and more recently he has given us detailed advice regarding our pensions in preparation for our retirement. Ben keeps us updated with any changes which he recommends to better suit our needs, always discussing these fully with us and giving regular reviews. Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Our portfolios have performed extremely well under Ben's guidance. Obviously, the markets are very volatile at the moment so it is a waiting game until globally things improve. Despite the current situation (with Coronavirus and the impact it is having) we are still confident about our finances.

What could they have done better?

We could not ask for better service from Ben. He is always ready to listen, provides good clear advice and is so well informed on anything we wish to discuss with him regarding our finances. He makes himself readily available either by phone or a visit if there is anything we need to talk through re our portfolios. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
