Chris checked the features of my 4 workplace pensions with 4 different providers and recommended a medium risk draw down pension with a well established provider. He will arrange for the pension pots to be transferred and set up my new pension. This will provide a reliable and tax efficient income for my retirement.

In terms of the investment, the only thing Chris could have done differently was to suggest a more staggered, gradual approach, as I am a first time investor and nervous of investing a bigger amount. I was about to retire and wanted to convert my various pensions and savings together in order to generate a monthly income whilst retaining most of the capital I had accrued to pass on to my children. I decided to achieve this I needed help from an independent financial adviser with expert knowledge to offer me guidance and advice to pull this all together. It was also important to me that this person would be able to look at the whole market and not just one companies products.

How has Christopher Rainbow helped you?

Chris first came to me as an adviser for a highly respected company so when he became independent I was thrilled to able to approach him for help and advice. Having administered most of my own SIPP platform for years I have sum knowledge of how things work however Chris took me to another level. He came up with a plan tailor-made for my requirements and I have never looked back. A total professional with great knowledge of the markets and products. I'm now so comfortable with his on-going advice I now only look at my investments once or twice every 6 months as opposed to 3 or 4 times a week.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We were looking to sell our rental property and needed advice on the best course of action and beyond how to invest the equity in the best way. We were also looking for advice on how to best plan for our future encompassing pensions, savings plans and mortgage arrangements.

Chris was extremely thorough in listening to our desired outcomes and the reasons for us seeking his guidance. Our first two meetings were extremely thought-provoking with Chris guiding us to consider all elements of our future planning ,the vast majority of which we had not even considered. I found him by contacting the FSA - they gave me his contact details because he is local to me. He reviewed my investments and advised me on some changes that he recommended.

Too soon to judge but looks o.k at the moment
