The discussion with Sharon was helpful, relaxed and informative and whilst there are still some open questions before she can provide a comprehensive assessment and associated advice I would have no hesitation in using Sharon in the future.

By her own admission equity release wasn't her area of expertise, so the meeting wasn't all that fruitful

Sharon:

I think perhaps that John has misunderstood the conversation that we had around Equity Release advice. I had explained to him that this is not the type of business that I conduct regularly. This is due to the fact that Equity Release is not for everyone. It's really a niche market and i would have to consider the pros and cons of Equity Release very carefully on each individual case , as it's not to be entered into lightly. This is true for both the client and myself as an adviser. I am fully qualified and experienced as an Equity Release adviser , along with my other areas of expertise.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had a dormant work pension that would not give me full benefit for another 6 years but had a good transfer value which would give me greater control and an earlier date at which I could start drawing from so I needed good financial investment advice.

How has Sharon Lyon helped you?

Sharon explained all my options, risks involved, and where best to invest it. Sharon also explained all charges initial and on-going including what return I would hopefully have + the fact that my portfolio would also be managed on a monthly basis was welcome news as that is not always the case with some investments. Sharon is also very approachable and always gives a prompt return on any correspondence.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I am very pleased with the outcome after seeing my 6-monthly results and all the buy/sell transactions that were done to achieve this.

What could they have done better?

Nothing comes to mind on this one....ask me again in 4 years :-)

Change in law allowing full pension pot to be taken and invested privately...needed advice.

How has Sharon Lyon helped you?

Very knowledgeable, worked on figures to show pros and cons, showed past data and was friendly and approachable, with flexible times for meetings. Fast turn-around when decisions made.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, all good so far. Did what was asked in much quicker time than I'd heard would be the case from other IFA.

What could they have done better?

Nope....couldn't have asked for a better service.
