My career financial services began in 1987, working for Guardian Royal Exchange and Legal & General before joining Brigham Brining & Co Ltd in 2001. Following our acquisition of Brigham Brining, I joined Ellis Bates as a Director in 2008 and was appointed Managing Director in 2013. I am a Chartered Financial Planner, holding the Diploma in Financial Planning, Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning & Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management. My approach is to help you achieve your financial goals. Everyone is different and wants their money to achieve different things so your goals, for example, may include gaining clarity and understanding of what your retirement can look like and the actions you need to take, managing and building your wealth, becoming an investor or helping your children get on the property ladder. My role is to understand what you want to achieve and then work with you to put the necessary financial actions in place. I use sophisticated cashflow modelling software to help you develop lifetime financial plans and to bring your financial future to life, allowing you to add timeline events to see whether you are on track to meet your goals. Cashflow modelling helps you clearly understand the options you have and how to utilise your money in order to live the life you want, for yourself and your loved ones. My specialist areas of financial advice include: • Pension planning including pension consolidation, pension drawdown, flexible pension options • Retirement planning and forecasting • Investing and managing investment portfolios • Tax planning • Inheritance tax planning • Wealth management • Insurance and protection • Business owner and Director services including protection, tax planning and group pension schemes I work closely with our in-house investment team, who deliver a first class socially responsible investment proposition, along with an extensive range of strategies to suit all risk appetites. I work alongside the Mortgage, Equity Release, Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney and Trusts teams at Ellis Bates to offer you expert financial solutions and services from saving up for your first home to protecting your family’s inheritance in later life – and everything in between. Outside of work my interests include spending time with family and friends, football, swimming, cycling, walking and watching Rugby League.
