Initially sought advice following receipt of a lump sum, then brought in pension planning and consolidation.

Kept things simple, and worked through the attempts I had made at managing investments myself before getting a professional involved.

Yes, I have been able to retire early with confidence I will have enough income.

We had numerous pensions & investments with no clear understanding of their final value, nor tax implications. In addition, I was looking to retire within a five year span, but again no understanding if this was feasible with our life plan expectations.

Joel captured the information on all of the policies and pension plans to provide us with a clear indication of our wealth and when retirement was possible/feasible. This was a major effort and we had regular updates and consultations on the impact of policy changes and the building of future portfolios.

I was looking to retire and had two very large final salary schemes . I wanted to know if it was possible to retire and at what age.

How has Joel Wormald helped you?

Joel went through everything with me in great detail including my future aspirations. he provided so much information , so many projections, worst case scenarios and reviewed the values of my pension schemes and other investments. He was honest, didn't pull any punches and made me see that I was able to retire and sooner than anticipated. More importantly for me, Metis do everything so the fees are justified. Regular reviews of risk, financial needs and any adjustments required are done regularly. I am able to make fully informed choices backed up by the necessary documentation.

Yes, it is still early stages but all good so far

What could they have done better?

I don't think this is Joel but my feedback would be to Metis that it would be helpful to have a one page summary stating what is good, what isn't ( in regard to the fund) , if caution needs to be exercised and a list of investments that may need to be reviewed . You may already do this but so much paper is produced ( appreciate this is necessary) and it is not always that user friendly.
