What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have been out of work for some time following redundancy and having spent nearly all my savings I was desperate to get all my pensions in one place and try to get some pension based income. However, I found the whole area confusing when attempting to do so - I found it hard to get the information I needed from the pension companies.

How has Vanessa Deen helped you?

Vanessa worked very hard to get all my pensions in one place. Even when one of the pension companies was not being very co-operative Vanessa persisted and managed to get all applicable pensions into one place. She also gave me excellent advice regarding the choice of pension provider and the level of investment risk that would be most suitable for my circumstances. Also when I found I needed more income, Vanessa advised me that rather than draw any more income from my Drawdown pension (which was doing very well as an investment) that instead I make use of another pension I had which was already at its retirement age and was a defined benefits pension which had not been eligible for merging with the other pensions. This has worked out well for me.

Vanessa is very clear and understanding, she explained every so easily to me and I thoroughly trusted her knowledge and understanding of my situation. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I have been out of work for a long time whilst training for a new career. My savings were getting low especially with the Covid situation making it hard to find work. I needed to find a way of releasing some money from my pensions. At the time I had 5 different pension pots. I was finding it hard to get timely responses from my pension providers as to whether or not my pensions were of the drawdown type or if they could be combined. The responses I did get were very hard for me to understand

How has Vanessa Deen helped you?

Vanessa worked very hard to get the information from my previous providers about what type of pensions I had and whether any of them could be combined and used as an income drawdown. Vanessa also did extensive research on finding the right pension provider for my needs and explained how and where the money would be invested with very clear explanations of risk, probable growth in the value of the investment and how I could manage the money to suit my needs.

Yes. I now have a monthly income from my pension to keep me going until I find my next job.

What could they have done better?

Cannot think of anything. All issues relating to delays in getting a solution were due to late responses from some my previous pension providers, itself largely due to the covid situation affecting staffing levels.

I was looking for a financial adviser to give me advice and help me to start a pension.

How has Vanessa Deen helped you?

Venessa spoke to me over zoom for a couple of hours teaching me about pensions and the would be the benefits of opening one. There was alot of information to take in but she made it a lot more enjoyable and made me feel at ease taking in all the new information. Venessa then went away and came back to me a couple of weeks later with what pension plans would be the best for me which i was really impressed with as she put a lot of effort was put into this. I went ahead with the pension last year and have already seen a good amount of growth in a short time.

Yes i have and its been less then a year. Something i wasn't expecting to see too much of within the first year.

A friend was talking about having critical illness insurance to cover their mortgage & I realized that I didn't have any. We discussed that as the sole name on my mortgage how I really need to have this in case I were to get critically I'll, so I contacted Vanessa.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was left in a position where I was off sick from work following a car accident and after 6 months of sick pay was left with no income for a further 18 months until I was made redundant. I got myself into alot of debt and then looked for advice to never be in a situation again.

Due to the current climate i have been left wondering about the future and the fact that I have been very unprepared. I gave Vanessa a call to inquire about what options there were around in regard to insurances, saving for the future....I have to stress I did not have the faintest idea! Vanessa went through various options available and her knowledge of this was next to none! Even though i have not gone ahead currently she has left me with lots of information, options and food for thought! I didn't even know about a fraction of what is out there and available to you no matter what your current financial status is! and let me tell you mine is at an all time low! I have recently gone through a divorce and through this have obtained an additional pension that needed a secure home.
