I had several meetings with Kay and the assets were transferred. Mostly it is simply a matter of monitoring, moving money under an ISA umbrella. There was an issue related to a pension for contracting out of SERPS that was caused by the provider not giving Kay's company the correct information but that has been resolved now. SInce then, Kay has offered me advice on declaring some tax on a bond that was helpful.

I am woefully unprepared for retirement - on all fronts but particularly in the financial sense and now having reached my early 50s, that became something i could no longer ignore.

getting to that time in my life when i felt it was important to insure everything was in place for what may ever happen in my life.

After recovering from a sizeable change in personal circumstances in 2021, I wanted to speak to someone about getting my affairs in order financially to try and make my money work harder for me rather than simply sitting in a current account.

How has Kay Mechial helped you?

In the 8 weeks or so that I've been working with Kay, the information he has provided me with as well as the presentation of options available to me has been instrumental in allowing me to make informed decisions about my current and future finances. Kay has always acted in an advisory capacity, and I have never felt pressured in any way to make a decision that I am not entirely comfortable with. Kay and I were able to build a rapport quickly and easily, and his communication style and approach to a regular meeting cadence has made him very easy to work with.

I had various different pensions schemes and other investments and I wanted to consolidate them within a framework of an overall retirement plan.

How has Kay Mechial helped you?

Kay collected a lot of data and then we had a number of meetings in which he got a good understanding of my position and came up with a plan for both my investments and my pensions,

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The transfer to the new scheme is still a work in progress. The proof of the pudding is how well my investments do compared to similar schemes and in the light of the financial markets. However, it seems to be going well so far.

What could they have done better?

Mostly it was fine. There were a number of moments of confusion, mostly as a result of my misunderstanding some of the documentation. In a way, it was a consequence of having so many simultaneous actions and getting confused between them from time to time. But Kay seemed to understand the problem each time and helped me figure out I had gone wrong.

I was looking for a life insurance. When I spoke with Kay, he was very helpful and clear in explaining the different options available. After insurance company got my medical report, it was more than 1 year old. They said they would like to see my recent medical report. If the report cannot be submitted within 90 days, we will have to submit a new application. Due to some urgent issues I had to travel abroad and could not come back to get my medical test done. Kay has been very understanding and patient for me to come back to UK and get the test done. After the new report, insurance company offered me the life insurance. What has been remarkable about Kay is that most of the people will not follow up with clients after 90 days and start a new application as it is a time consuming process but Kay has been in touch with me consistently throughout the whole process. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I am nearing retirement age and want to retire from my existing job at 60. I wanted to know if this was possible.

How has Kay Mechial helped you?

Kay has given me details of what my income would be at 60 . He was able to answer my questions about my financial position should I take my pensions at 60 vs leaving them until state retirement age. He is very amenable and knowledgeable.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, Kay was able to put my mind at rest that I will be comfortable in retirement and I can retire from my existing job at 60 if I choose to do so.

What could they have done better?

Kay and his company were easily contactable and the whole process was quick and easy. I have no complaints

I have a number of company pension plans from previous employers, I really did need some advice on what to do with them.

Kay was able to advise in a very succinct manner, what was the best plan forward for my historical company pension plans, he was very open and honest, which was of course, very much appreciated.

As a new business owner, with a good business turnover, I was looking for support and advice regarding long term management of my earnings.

We discussed a number of things, including different ways to invest my money and the right time to start paying into a pension. Kay was very helpful in outlining all of my options; he recognised that there were a number of factors that meant that my requirements were likely to change over time and was very clear and friendly throughout our consultations.

Yes - I will continue to consult with Kay over the future months as my business changes. He's given me a clear overview on what I need to do movving forward to make the most of my money!

What could they have done better?

Kay was super helpful so not much to improve upon. A couple of times he used terms that I was unfamiliar with, but he was very quick to 'dumb down' his questions to accommodate my lack of knowledge!
