Jeannie was very helpful and she outlined the various options regarding investment. She really simplified our choices and allowed us to select the right option for us.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I am separating from my husband and needed financial advice about pensions and savings.

How has Jeannie Boyle helped you?

Jeannie Boyle listened carefully to my circumstances, analysed where my pension pot stood currently and gave me different trajectories for where it could be, and commented on the quality of fund that I currently had and what its strengths and weaknesses were. Most importantly she gave me confidence that I could take control of my finances and improve them considerably and that that was within my grasp.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is early days, but I have already taken the initial advice and follow up advice and feel more confident and secure about my financial future.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. The help that Jeannie Boyle gave me was above and beyond what I expected.

I retired early and wanted to manage my finances efficiently

My needs are not mainstream and I have strong opinions on where my investments should be. Jeannie listened to everything I said and understood the reasons for my opinions. She presented other options when appropriate, which gave me food for thought. She asked for confirmations of my plans to ensure that I had made the correct assumptions and that my expectations would be matched by my financial position. My funds were probably very modest in comparison to others she manages, but she always made me feel that her services to me were carried out with care and efficiency.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had the opportunity of voluntary redundancy and given my various pension pots and likely severance payment needed to explore my options and the financial viability of taking early retirement.

How has Jeannie Boyle helped you?

I have been Jeannie’s client for 4+ years and throughout she has provided a very professional service. During all our initial fact-finding, progress update and ongoing review meetings Jeannie focused on meeting my needs. She demonstrated the necessary curiosity, put my interests first and was always proactive in bringing things to my attention. I felt no pressure to sign-up for anything and all our conversations were focused on my needs. Jeannie’s knowledge and expertise helped to guide and clarify my thinking around all the available options and potential outcomes. Once decisions were made all the transactional stuff (e.g. around Pension Transfers, setting-up a SIPP and Lifetime Annuity) went very smoothly. As a Gay man (HIV+ in a Civil partnership) I felt that Jeannie was totally non-judgemental in a completely genuine way. I know we should expect that as a given but there’s a big difference between someone who exudes authenticity as opposed to someone you sense is just ‘following a script’. Jeannie always had lots of clear and easy to understand analysis to hand. I always felt that I could ask any questions (and I did) and Jeannie provided clear explanations. During the ‘ups and downs’ of the financial markets Jeannie was always at hand to provide a longer-term and wider-world perspective, was always abreast of current affairs and demonstrated a high level of financial acumen. Despite my working in Banking for nearly 40 years, your own Financial Planning can see somewhat daunting but Jeannie is very personable and it was easy to establish a great rapport with her. I don’t know if you’re supposed to 'enjoy’ meetings with your Financial Planner… but I did. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jeannie’s services.

Yes - I am very happy with the outcome which continues to meet my needs.
