What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had a sum of money that I wanted to invest to help secure my future, especially as a self-employed person. It wasn't a huge amount, and big financial institutions intimidated me a bit. I felt I would not be a 'big enough fish' for them to give me the personal attention that I wanted to make my funds work for me and the life I want.

As mentioned before, Sam has given us the confidence and encouraged us to retire earlier, with my wife retiring 18 months ago and myself only 4 months ago, which is more than the outcome I was for. Although it is very early days in our retirement, I am confident that Sam has set up our investments to provide a comfortable funding to meet the needs of our lifestyle.
