What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had several pension pots and needed advice on whether to consolidate them and where to do this. I was also dealing with my late mother’s estate and wanted advice on how best to invest inheritance as well as being within the law re gifting money to my children.

Jane has helped my husband and I to understand how to look after our family finances better. Jane has given us the confidence to begin planning ahead with pensions, inheritance, savings & supporting our children. More important though than all this, Jane has helped us to feel more financially secure than we thought we were and has encouraged us to ask whatever questions we have about money without us feeling silly & rather niave. Jane has skilfully & patiently guided us through many decisions; each time so our needs and views were accommodated.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Pensions have been consolidated. New savings plans are underway and we have an ongoing accessible view of all our financial assets & liabilities. We are much happier & now wonder why we put off our financial housekeeping!

What could they have done better?

Their service team were brilliant too and other staff I’ve communicated with were professional & could answer my query. However I was a little muddled at times, thinking I was mailing Jane & getting responses from Janes mail box to then realise it wasn’t Jane but a different staff member covering her mail box.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My 103 year old mother was in rehab preparing to be discharged and we needed to understand how to finance her full time care at home.

How has Jane Hodges helped you?

Jane really helped me to understand the various legal frameworks under which we might qualify for help via NHS funding, or alternatively how we might qualify for financial support from the council, with Mum's private care costs. It was a long process I had to go through - advocating for mum - but Jane confidently supported me to pursue the claim over many months.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes - to my amazement - we are now getting a substantial sum towards mum's care at home. I am incredibly grateful.

What could they have done better?

I have no complaints whatever. Her charges were extremely reasonable and I think amounted to about one week's worth of the financial support we now get.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was required to get an FCA-regulated advice in order to access my DB pension scheme and transfer the income to Australia, where I now live. My local financial advisors recommended Money Honey.

I had three options for dealing with the pension fund. Jane walked me through the pros and cons of each of them, and helped me to make my final decision based on a thorough understanding of my current position and future financial needs.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Not yet - we're still dealing with the pension fund people. But I see no reason why the outcome will be different to what we expect.
