What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Living in a European country where HMRC doesn't recognise a single pension provider I could not transfer two pension funds from the UK but neither fund would offer an annuity as I was non-resident.

How has Jane Hodges helped you?

Jane and her team found a UK provider that was happy to accept the transfer of the two funds and that would provide an annuity income while satisfying HMRC that not tax was due on the transfer. One fund was transferred quickly and without problems. The second fund required constant chasing from Jane and her team over a period of several months. I can't recommend the team highly enough for their persistence when confronted by a reluctant fund manager. They kept me informed throughout the process and without their help I don't think the transfer would have been completed.

I was put in touch with Jane and MoneyHoney through my Australian financial adviser as someone who could help with consolidating my UK pensions ahead of moving them to Australia at a future point.

Jane did a review of all of my UK pensions, many with out of date paperwork, she did all the detective work associated with tracking them down, liaising with the providers and then advising me on how to transfer them. This included some quite painful interactions with the providers, working on my behalf and guiding me on what information to provide and when. She then recommended a destination fund for my pensions and has moved them all across.

I had money locked in a pension, and as an expat I could not find anyone who could get me annuity from my pension. I needed someone who knew the UK pension and annuity system to help me.

There was a little confusion over addresses, as the annuity provider required a UK address, which I don't have so Jane used her address initially before updating it to my address in Italy. The provider's system hiccuped over this, but it was quickly sorted, albeit with a small amount of angst!

I had a number of pensions from previous employers. I wanted to get it consolidated into a fund where I could drawdown flexibly and ensure that the residual was available as part of my estate when I am deceased.

Nothing, really. Maybe not use Microsoft Teams? Had lots of trouble connecting lay time
