What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I’m in my mid 40s and was looking for help in what I needed to do to best save for retirement.

How has Russell Wiles helped you?

He looked at what I could realistically afford, as well as what I wanted to achieve, and advised that I save regularly into a pension.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is early days, as I only took the advice in March this year, but so far so good.

What could they have done better?

Not sure there is anything else he could have done... felt he explained in a way I could understand, not just what I needed to try and do, but also why.

Russell gave excellent impartial advice on which scheme was most applicable for me. This was to take out a Whole Life Mortgage when required n a few years time. He confirmed my understanding of how these worked and also alerted me to possible near term investment options available should I wish to discuss them.

Looking to take an income from an investment portfolio. have known Russell for many years, he was my parents FA at Lloyd's Bank.

How has Russell Wiles helped you?

We discussed the option of taking the ISA's out of the portfolio & investing elsewhere getting a better return to be taken as an income.

Awaiting a similar discussion with an advisor from the group that currently looks after my portfolio before making a choice.

He was able to make sense of my many years of haphazard investments and devise a modified investment strategy that was much simpler and still met my investment aims.

The unfortunate loss of my husband last year meant having someone I trusted to give me advice as and when I might need it became more important. Previously we relied on the service provided by our bank, but that has changed and is now not based locally. I needed someone to take responsibility for my investments.

He explained things in an easy to understand way, and listened to what I had to say (a very important thing as some people talk down to you). Russell is a good listener and offers very sound advice. Russell has always conducted our discussions in a most friendly, professional and courteous manner. He has always explained every point in a way we fully understood. Before we met Russell our finances were in a chaotic state. We had money sitting in various accounts doing little and earning even less. With Russell's help our financial rewards have increased dramatically and perhaps the biggest advantage is that he has taken away the worry of what to do. We had neither the time, the inclination or the expertise to rectify this situation ourselves and after dealing with him we would have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone.

Russell has excellent people skills. He was my adviser just after my husband died and I had to deal with a large - by my standards - sum of insurance money. Russell was very kind, tolerant and empathetic, which I needed as I felt bereaved, vulnerable and out of my comfort zone with money. I wanted low-risk options, which is what he found for me. I always found our regular meetings reassuring and missed them when I transferred funds. I did the latter because I had a new partner and it was easier to have our finances under one umbrella. He inspired confidence and came across as a good person.
