John Maxwell made everything so much easier and less stressful. He found the best Mortgage plan for me and sorted application forms etc. with just a few emails from me. He also organised Life Insurance; again finding me the best coverage for the best price with minimal input from me. The final thing he helped with was insurance. Absolutely, I got the term I desired at a rate that is within my budget.
What could they have done better?
Nothing. John walked me through every stage of the mortgage application which could be quite a daunting experience. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He accommodated a lot of changes, responded to my correspondence timeously and nothing ever seemed like it was a bother. Will go back to John when it's time to renew my mortgage.

Full financial advice and planning, including life assurance, mortgage advice, insurance investment and future financial planning. John provided the reassurance that was needed following the death of my husband for myself and my young child.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
I am hoping to receive an income from my investment but it is too early for that yet. I am happy with my investments and savings and ISA for my child. I now am fully insured and have taken all the advice that was offered to me.
What could they have done better?
I honestly cant think of anything that could have been done better. John was very prompt in replying to calls ad emails and was very accommodating with appointments.

John started off by answering some questions for me at a casual meeting. He verbalised some options, which I decided to take a bit further. Once I had decided to use Johns services, he explained everything clearly, and when necessary, in layman's terms. He explained the processes and how it could work for me. He made clear the possibilities and the risks, based on the questionnaire put to me. Once I had agreed to sign up to use his services, he has so far completed them in a very professional manner. John is very approachable, and takes the time to explain things to you.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
It's a bit early to tell, but currently my investment has performed quite well.
What could they have done better?
Struggling to find a constructive comment, perhaps a cup of tea or coffee during meetings? Parking is a bit difficult at times?

I've moved around a lot. As a result, I've needed to obtain mortgages in different cities, and usually at rather short notice!

John has taken me through the mortgage process (several times over 12 years) and has always given me a good range of products to meet my needs. I've also had good value (BTL) insurance arranged by John too.

Had the initial call same day as I made the enquiry and was promised I'd be sent questions for further analysis. After a week of no contact I chased and got an answer. The questions implied that John hadn't taken on board exactly what we had discussed on the initial call so I emailed back to clarify and I've not heard from him since despite sending another chaser email. Even if he wasn't able to help me, basic customer service dictates you inform your prospective customer, not ignore them.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?
I was looking to buy a new house whilst retaining my existing house as a buy-to-let investment. John was able to come up with a range of mortgage options which made this possible. I had previously tried the building society/bank, but they were unable to meet my needs for this particular situation.
How has John Maxwell helped you?
John provided a range of options for me - and was able to find a mortgage product to meet my particular needs, whilst taking account of the affordability for me. John was then able to find me a suitable insurance product for the buy-to-let property.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes, I was able to obtain the mortgage and buy the property (and retain the buy-to-let). John's thorough and professional approach was very helpful and I didn't find the same level of research or market knowledge elsewhere. John was also very quick in responding at every stage of the process and kept everything moving to meet the tight timescale I had to work to.
What could they have done better?
I really did get all that I wanted from John's service. I've used MX before, so we know how each other work and what we're looking for. I like the fact it's been a long-term business relationship over several houses and insurance projects - and I've built up a level of trust (and John knows how I work too). I don't have anything else that I'd want from the service - so there's no need for me to add something 'just for the sake of it' - so yes, very happy!
