I needed to 'tidy up' my finances and assistance to plan my retirement.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Having several DB schemes, I needed an adviser who could provide advice and facilitate the transfer of my pension arrangements to a suitable DC plan to enable my pension fund to pass to my family after my death.

How has Nick Tattersall helped you?

It was very clear at our first meeting that Nick had the specialist knowledge and experience to assist with my particular needs - through the delivery of a very professional, effective and efficient customer focused service, Nick addressed all my areas of need and provided me with that all important financial peace of mind - that my large pension pension fund would be available to my children after my death as opposed to just simply disappearing which would have represented very poor value for money.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The recommended course of action that I have accepted and which is now is place satisfies everything I wanted from a flexible pension plan, which incidentally is what Nick advised would be the optimum outcome - all the boxes have been ticked!

What could they have done better?

Absolutely nothing! I found that Nick has excellent communication skills, he is a very good listener, friendly and puts the customer at ease.

A serious health condition in my 40's forced me to give up work. I sought advice to see whether it would be possible and judicious to access my pensions early.

How has Nick Tattersall helped you?

Nick assessed my existing pension provision, both defined benefit and defined contribution, and made recommendations for accessing and consolidating them in the most advantageous and efficient way according to my and my family's circumstances, which he took time and care to understand. Throughout, Nick was knowledgable, professional, friendly and helpful. My condition affects my concentration and Nick was always thorough in checking my understanding of various products, options for action and the advantages and disadvantages of each. I trust Nick's advice, think he's a really nice, personable guy and would recommend him to anyone.

Absolutely. After several conversations examining the options, Nick moved as swiftly as the bureaucracy would allow, and my pensions have now been consolidated and are providing an income.

Needing help with investing savings over medium and long term periods. Also, we wanted help with life insurance

He was brilliant at firstly listening and trying to feel for where we were at in life. What information we needed, what are motivations were and trying to give really sound advice without overwhelming us.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Well hopefully. I feel confident in what we did together but really only time will tell. I think tellingly, I always looked forward to our meetings together and felt Nick was acting in our best interests.

What could they have done better?

I have no experience to compare Nick to so this question is difficult. Maybe one thing I remember is talking in depth about all different ideas and approaches and products etc etc and at the back of my mind I was always wondering the cost. It possibly could have helped me focus more on the discussion if the fees had been laid out in the beginning. But then again maybe not!

Having taken time to understand what I wanted (and what I thought I wanted), Nick was extremely helpful and informative in explaining what options I had, and the risks/ merits against each. He was able to run through various 'life scenarios' that allowed me to make an educated and informed decision for my investments.
