I was looking for a bridging loan and a friend referred him to me. This was only going to need this until my house was sold.

How has Paul Boutle helped you?

Paul advised me on my options and since then helped make the best of my pension and investment from savings. I see him annually when he updates me on how much I've made, or not, due market variables. If things don't seem to be doing well we discuss possible move to better performing company shares.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Mainly yes, but I know this sector can change at the drop of a hat. But Paul knows me well and that I'm not a risk taking. I'm happy with a steady rise but equally aware things can go the opposite way.

I'm sure there is nothing better he can do, because if there was he'd have done it. He is guided by the markets.

Much the same as previous. He explains my statements, which usually show an increase in funds, demonstrating the companies in which I've invested are doing ok. Paul helped me by completing a review of my current situation, attitude toward risk, aspirations for retirement and then put together a most comprehensive report of advice. He went to great lengths to first get to know me and build a rapport which was reassuring.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I was very impressed with the lengths to which Paul went to in getting to know me and answering all of my questions. Paul's advice was well researched and presented and I was happy to go with it, as for the ultimate outcome...well only time will tell. However, I was in agreement that ongoing advice would be in my best interests so as a result I am confident that should the need arise we can adjust the strategy to best achieve the outcome I hope for.

What could they have done better?

The whole business needed to be conducted during a national lockdown and we complied with this throughout. Paul was always very professional. In the future I look forward to a proper face- to - face discussion!

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We had some investments which were hardly getting any interest. We knew Paul from when he worked with Lloyds TSB, and were happy with his advice then, so we tracked him down to RetireInvest. We then received a legacy so we needed more advice.

Paul gave us advice slowly and clearly. If we couldn't fully understand something, he gave us as much time as necessary. He arrives on time, and has prepared thoroughly our needs and circumstances, before sharing his advice.

The first year after investing the legacy produced a 13% interest. We were very happy with that outcome, especially as we were middle of the road risk.

My partner had 2 different company pensions which had matured, but the benefits were restrictive. Paul facilitated a consolidation of these pensions into one personal pension which gave more flexibility. I also required my 2 matured personal pensions to be re-invested into a new flexible pension, a long with an ISA. Paul was recommended to us by a friend.

We were coming to an age where retirement is looming and the possibility of children buying houses/marriages and grandchildren. We therefore wanted to make sure we could move our cash ethically, let the money work for us but have enough accessible at fairly short notice if required.

I retired from Local Government in 2009 and wished to have advice regarding my pension and my lump sum.

I sought advice when I retired and that is when I first came into contact with Paul. He gave me sound advice on how to manage my lump sum and the mortage which at the time I was still paying. I found him to be very approachable and he took his time explaining to me how I could maximise my savings through investments. We have twice yearly reviews and I know he is only just at the end of phone should I need advice.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes is the answser to that question, I appreciate that the markets will fluctuate, however, I am satisified with the outcome I have presently.

What could they have done better?

I believe I have been given the best advice in my circumstances, and I'm at a lost to know what they could have done better

I think I was looking for advice on savings, I had redundancy money so just needed information on options for investments.

How has Paul Boutle helped you?

We did an initial Q&A session to establish the level of risk I'd be prepared to take and once that was confirmed he explained my options. He explained about profit and loss, that shares can fluctuate, all in a manner I could understand. Initially I was worried how much his services cost but as it's taken out of any profit it's not noticed.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. I've not lost any funds from his advice. We've moved money around if it wasn't performing and again Paul explained his reasons for any changes.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. He reacts to market fluctuations and discusses new products if he thinks they are right for me.

Paul arranged to meet and I gave him all information that he requested I had really no idea as to what some of my pensions were worth plus other details which is hard to understand Paul explained everything to me in a simple way making it easier to understand.
