As a small business, both my business partner and I were seeking long term financial planning advice, financial coaching for our business and an all round plan for our financial future both professionally and personally.

How has Liam Winstanley helped you?

Liam and his team have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish with this important move for me and my business partner. We have a successful business, but until we spoke with Liam, we had no real plans in place for the future. Liam and his team met with us to discuss what they could look to offer and then gave us time to go away and process this information , before we then took the next step to start making plans and agreeing how we manage our finances moving forward. We considered both our business plans, by including our accountant in the meetings and then we looked at what we would like to be achieving personally and matched this with our business goals. We have been so impressed by Liam and his team throughout this process, covering everything at a great pace, with total patience and such vision, offering us options to work through and then working with us, as a team, to work out what is right for us and for our business in the future. We are currently experiencing “the most expensive” period of our life and have just plodded on without consideration for the future or provision if things should go wrong! The next 4-5 years will be tough for us after which all being well, many of our financial burdens will be lessened.

He helped us prioritise our financial commitments and realise our fear if “things” in our equation were to go wrong. We understand what our future should look like and have made provision to protect it. Liam went above and beyond to understand our position and current financial limitations whilst also highlighting that these will change as the years go by and how we can address this in the future.

He obtained a lot of preemptive information to fully understand our income & risk to initially give us a realistic budget for the house purchase. He then provided a number of mortgage options based on our criteria of term and repayment costs. He took the initiative to propose other competitive options that although were slightly outside our criteria, were close enough to seriously consider because of longer-term financial stability. He then moved quickly with what turned out to be a successful mortgage application of our chosen product. We have since engaged in early discussions about protection insurance.

At the latter end of our working life we were self employed after working for various companies and receiving a set salary. As the move to self employment meant our income was not guaranteed we needed advice as to the best way to plan for our retirement using the most tax effective way.

How has Liam Winstanley helped you?

Liam has always listened not only to our aims but our concerns about the risks involved in any investments and has taken this into consideration when giving advice. He has always taken the time to explain our investments in ways we can understand which has helped us to make our decisions. He is very approachable and will immediately complete any paperwork needed if we need to release any of our investments. Liam is constantly updating his knowledge and we have every confidence in him which in turn puts our minds at rest.

Our investment incomes have always moved up and down but the upward growth has always been good. Liam keeps a close eye on our portfolio and will contact us if he feels we need to discuss it before our next regular review.
