Gavin set up EAS in 1992 and in addition to his role as Chairman continues to actively advise personal and business clients. Some of these clients have been with him since he started in financial services in 1981. A long time advocate of higher professional qualifications Gavin is both Chartered and Certified, A Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and passed the demanding “Resolution” Pension and Divorce Examination. Gavin served as President of the professional association the LIA (which had over 27,000 members) in 2002/03, was on the FSA Small Business Practitioner Panel for 5 years, served as Convenor on the ISO 22222 (Personal Financial Planning) Standard and is currently Chair of the BSI (British Standard Institute) SVS6 Financial Planning committee which in 2012 launched a British Standard for financial planning firms. In his spare time Gavin is Vice Chair of Governors at Furze Platt Senior School, Plays the Tuba in various Bands and has a private pilots licence.
