What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?
I was suffering from stress due to my work and sought financial advice as to when I could retire. I selected James after initial discussions with a number of independent financial advisers. because I thought that I could trust him to deliver what I needed in terms of financial security in retirement.
How has James Etheridge helped you?
James undertook a thorough review of my finances and assured me that I could retire immediately, well before state pension age. We review our finances every year with James and address changes in circumstance as well as considering various future scenarios and strategies to cope.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes. In fact, James probably saved my life by showing me how I could leave a very stressful job that was making me ill and anxious. If I had not retired then, I am sure that I would have had a potentially fatal heart attack far sooner.
What could they have done better?
I find it hard to identify areas where James could have done anything better

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?
I retired with an occupational pension, and a private pension, before my state pension was due. I had inherited some money and I felt I needed advice about how to manage the money I had and plan for the future. I felt anxious about my situation and followed the advice of an old colleague to talk with James.
How has James Etheridge helped you?
James helped me to meet my goals: to be clear about what money I have; to be able to do the things I want to; and not to worry about money. James set out my situation clearly, which enabled me to make decisions about spending in the long and short term. James gave me reassurance about the future
