Nearing retirement and needed an independent review of our existing arrangements and circumstances.

How has Alasdair Walker helped you?

Alasdair and the team have taken time to understand our hopes for our move into retirement and have helped us develop a plan to help make those hopes a reality.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. We have a plan with an understanding of the risks and opportunities ahead. Our investments and pensions have been consolidated in a manner that reflects our risk appetite whilst allowing our aspirations to be met.

What could they have done better?

All of our dealings with Alasdair and the wider team have been first rate.

We had various Pension schemes that we wanted to consolidate and improve.

How has Alasdair Walker helped you?

The plans were all researched and a consolidated proposal was produced, which made life a lot easier for us.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Not yet. With the state of the world market post-Covid, it's no surprise that we haven't benefitted from a stellar performance, but I have confidence that we will in the coming years.

What could they have done better?

Maybe suggested a slightly broader global scope for investments, but I am not an expert in this field so it may not have been wise prior to Covid.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted to retire early and considered opting out of a company scheme.

How has Alasdair Walker helped you?

Alasdair gave both myself and my wife illustrations on the effect of opting out of a company scheme. He was thorough in the analysis and possible outcomes. Since then we have regular meetings to ensure we're on track to achieve our long term pension goals.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It has been a turbulent time in the world, but Alasdair and his team have taken any emotion out of the investments. They are doing well despite recent global set backs.

What could they have done better?

Not sure what. He has always been pragmatic in approach.
