I was looking for advice in several areas, pension review and planning and investment options for spares cash that was lying around not earning interest. Hence, we thought it investing the money was the best option.

Will recommended and then sorted out the best way to more forward regarding my defined benefits pension, advised on the best option for the initial review and set the process in motion. He also presented a comprehensive investment portfolio tailored to our requirements. Gave clear concise advice regarding the amount to invest and sorted our ISA's.

We are approaching retirement and also trying to buy a house having sold our previous property. We asked Will to advise us with the best approach to do this. We've had two meetings with him at our home. Firstly, where he gathered the necessary background and information and secondly, where he gave us a comprehensive review of various scenarios. His conclusion and advise at this stage was to do nothing until we had purchased the house. This meant that we will not change any of our pension plans or investments and as a consequence, he will not receive any payment for the time and advice he has given us so far. His research and advice, as well as his polite and engaging nature, has been thoroughly professional. We will ask him again to help us with our pensions and investments when we have found the right house to buy.

He found the best options for investing the money, pension plan, and insurance cover so that I didn't have to spend time researching and liasing with the companies. He made it all very manageable, and explained it all very clearly.

Will used to look after my investment portfolio when with the bank. The bank became less interested in providing one to one advice, cut back on staff, including Will, and I valued his advice and so became one of his first clients.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My own knowledge of money matters is quite limited and I was seeking a trusted source of sound information from someone with a breadth of knowledge and a banking background.

How has Will Clarke helped you?

He was brilliant! I couldn't have wished for a better adviser. He was very professional but also friendly and approachable, and didn't make me feel inferior for my lack of knowledge. He explained everything very well and I felt confident in the choices I was making. I wasn't sure what to expect from our meeting but surprisingly it turned out to be a pleasant experience and I was impressed by his understanding of my personal circumstances and the advice he offered. Moreover, I know that I can contact him at any time if I am unsure about anything.

Yes, indeed. I am more than happy to continue being advised by Will Clarke and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone else.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had known Will previously at my bank and so was confident in continuing advice from him. My bank through ongoing staff reviews were unable to help me in the way I had been used to and I wanted an advisor that could help me manage my savings rather than me have to do all the correspondence myself in future. I prefer to have one person who can support me .

How has Will Clarke helped you?

He took time to listen and explore options for me and was able to manage the admin side of things. I also felt he understood what my future plans were and acknowledged my change in risk assessment. Took time to ensure I understood and had time to go over things. Always available to speak to if needed. Helped to arrange on line chats so could be "face to face" during lockdown.

Too early to tell at this stage as recently changed/transferred my savings

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was offered a free consultation with my bank 'HSBC' regarding my finances. I decided to use the bank's financial adviser as the investments and advice offered were very attractive. Will Clarke was appointed my HSBC financial adviser in 2019. When he left HSBC he was not replaced so I was left in a situation where I was paying for a service which I was not receiving. When Will moved to Premier Miton he contacted me and after a couple of meetings I decided to appoint him as my financial adviser.

How has Will Clarke helped you?

We discussed my current finances and retirement plan and Will came up with a choice of investments which were fully explained. He also offered financial advice regarding pensions, wills etc.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is too early to say for sure. But what I have seen so far is very promising.

What could they have done better?

I don't think he could have done anything better. During the consultation there was no sales pressure. No one could predict what was about to happen regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
