What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed to consult a financial advisor to transfer a pension from an annuity to a draw down product. As my pension was over £30k I was required to seek independent financial advice.

How has Henry Elliston helped you?

Henry carried out a substantial financial review and agreed that a drawdown product would be advisable. He arranged the transfer of my pension which has now been completed.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Too early to see how my investments are performing. Happy with the product used so far. Henry was very easy to deal with and I happy with his recommendations.

What could they have done better?

The transfer took along time to complete but this was not Henry’s fault.

Henry helped put together a settlement for my divorce negotiations.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Political uncertainty, our increasing age and the need to recognise the opportunity of passing wealth to our children were all persuasive arguments to prompt an independent review of our inheritance options. We do have an IFA to look after investments but their advice was not free of bias driven my commission on sales of inheritance and insurance based solutions.

A very thorough review of our cash flow, assets and financial priorities was shared with Henry and discussed face to face. This was followed, after a period of analysis by Henry, by another face to face review during which we were able to ask many questions.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, we now have a set of potential strategies that we can consider, review with family and friends and then decide which are most appropriate.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. My only concern, and this is not related to Henry, is that one cannot look into the future and see whether one’s choices and indeed Henry’s strategies work out! If one were to have two or three IFA’s advice, there would likely be some disagreement based on a client’s situation, but we have one view, an excellent view no less, but still only one.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Wanted a trusted advisor to model out our goals and see if these were achievable and the help produce a plan to get there. Wanted simplicity in our set up as well check up on our performance.

How has Henry Elliston helped you?

Brilliantly. His advice was clear, relatable and well explained. Gave the confidence that he knew what he was doing and utterly trustworthy, focused solely on your best interests.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Produced plan suited us, was well explained and is now being implemented.

What could they have done better?

Fees are overall competitive and fair versus the market. Fee structure could however be more tailored to the skill set and knowledge of the advice offered. There are elements of their advice which are hugely valuable and deserve higher fees. There are other elements of work which are more administrative.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I am in the process of reviewing our family investments and personal pensions.
