I have over 30 years experience in financial services. I started my career with the Clydesdale bank in 1983 before joining the AMP Pearl group in 1993. Ultimately I became an IFA in 2002 when I joined a small firm in Glasgow. In 2007 I left and started my own firm. I have a wide and varied client bank advising both personal and business customers. I am able to provide completely independent advice for mortgages, equity release, pensions, investments and life insurance/protection needs. In my spare time I like to play golf, ski and watching my son playing football I am part of 2plan Wealth Management a national firm of IFA's who provide the regulatory, compliance and back office support needed to allow me to provide truly independent advice. Equity release will reduce the value of your estate and could affect eligibility to means tested benefits. Your adviser should be able to assess and explain this to you. Warning: A Lifetime Mortgage is not suitable for everyone, and it is important to seek financial advice before taking any action. All other options available should be explored before choosing equity release.Interest is charged on both the original loan and the interest that has been added, the amount you owe will increase over time, reducing the equity left in your home potentially to nothing. Warning: The value of investments and any income from them can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the original amount invested. Get help with everything from buying your first property, to remortgaging, or funding investment in property. Warning: YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE. Warning: The value of investments and any income from them can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the original amount invested. Get help understanding and evaluating your retirement options, whether it be via an annuity or a drawdown, or discussing the other available retirement income options for you. Warning: The value of investments and any income from them can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the original amount invested.
