Vanessa was very friendly and knowledgeable. She explained our options and had even compiled a modeller with the figures that we had given her over the phone whilst arranging a date for the free initial consultation. She explained it all in easy to understand terms and gave me confidence that I could afford to retire early on voluntary redundancy.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I initially approached Vanessa in 2018 when I had taken voluntary redundancy and was looking to semi-retire. My main motivations then were fairly simple: to get unbiased advice on how best to invest the redundancy payment and to review my financial situation.

How has Vanessa Townshend helped you?

Vanessa helped me invest the initial sum in two ethical funds which have performed well. Since then she has given me continuing advice on how best to structure my finances and has helped with a lump sum investment from my pension. I have found that the breadth and depth of this advice far exceeds my initial expectations.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Very definitely. The investments which Vanessa recommended have continued to do well, and I feel happy that her advice on managing my various pensions has put me in a secure position for the future. Although I like to understand and be in control of my own finances as much as possible, it is very reassuring and valuable to have an expert like Vanessa to talk to. I value the fact that she is always happy to go into detailed explanations whenever I ask.
