Ross is such a pleasant guy straight away when I met him I felt really confident that i had made the right decision in using his company: he always turned up on time and explained everything that I was worried about answering all my questions that I wanted answered and was thoroughly professional. Made things really easy to understand.which made it easier for me to make the decision to retire early which I’m glad to say was the right decision. Ross was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable on our journey from assessing how much we could feasibly borrow in order to start house hunting, to the mortgage offer, all the way through to completion on our first house. With interest rates rising, and our current fixed rate mortgage deal due to expire, we approached Ross for advice on the next best steps to secure the best deal.

This included locking in a deal now to protect us from further interest rate rises before our current deal expires in April 2024. I had multiple pensions from various employees and wanted to know if amalgamating these would be beneficial. I had also reached an age where I was curious to understand at what point exactly I could retire with enough money to fulfill my needs.

Discussions around my estate and what could happen over the coming years took place and a plan was devised by Ross to confirm at what point in my career I would reach this plan and subsequently retire comfortably.

We were recommended Ross by a family friend. Ross was very helpful in guiding us through the process as first time buyers. Options and requirements were explained and he was adept at explaining what the pros and cons of various items were, as well as offering his own personal opinion whilst respecting your choice as a client. We had initially secured a 2 year fixed, at little hassle thanks to Ross and the team, but the interest rate mayhem in 2022 saw us want to switch to a 5 year. Ross and Kyrie were able to secure a new 5 year fixed within one day and acted very quickly to ensure we could achieve a reasonable rate. The product secured was withdrawn the following day, and we incurred no extra charge for this. Ross and the team were adept at keeping up to speed with the process and always reached out to see how things were progressing as well. Now a happy home owner since March '23, I would highly recommend Ross and the team to anyone looking for an advisor.

I needed to remortgage and also wanted to discuss my other financial circumstances at the same time

How has Ross Lacey helped you?

Ross was excellent in all areas. He spent a lot of time trying to get to know me and my goals, asking lots of pertinent questions. Ross then discussed some life planing with me around savings and pensions and I used him as a soundboard for different options that I was considering. Ultimately Ross left me understanding all the options in detail and helped me to come to my own decision. Ross also took the time to seek out the best possible mortgage deal for my remortgage and secured us a better rate than expected (which meant having to pay off a tiny bit extra of our current mortgage upon switching). Furthermore he was also able to recommend a more than satisfactory solicitor to assist with that side of the process.

I first approached Ross for mortgage advice and he correctly put me in touch with one of his professional contacts to deal with what was a relatively complex / not straightforward re-mortgage process which completed satisfactorily. My second reason for contacting Ross was to discuss a pension related query which arose through my employers proposing a potential tax saving without providing adequate information including pros and cons. Having obtained Ross's input I was able explore the proposal further through the insurers administering the company pension scheme and HMRC.

See the above comments. Essentially, I now have a way forward in connection with the re-mortgage process and the complex pension issue with potential to achieve savings on my tax obligations with HMRC's blessing.

Both outcomes are as good as I could have expected and Ross's straight forward approach helped me get to the heart of both issues.

I had a pension set up by another financial adviser some years ago, which was not being managed at all, so I had no idea if my fund was still appropriate for me and whether it was on track to provide for my future. I also had some cash ISAs which were no longer providing any interest, and therefore I wanted to seek a better place to invest my money.

How has Ross Lacey helped you?

After several face to face consultations, Ross moved my pension fund to a different provider and set up a stocks and shares ISA for me, which I intend to keep investing in. He has taken steps to diversify my portfolio and manage my risk appetite accordingly (which has fluctuated quite a lot over the past year or so). He always explains everything in a logical, calm manner, so that I can understand things clearly. As well as making investment decisions for me as an individual, he is also helping both me and my husband plan for our future. We meet a couple of times a year to discuss our financial goals, and Ross builds this into a financial plan, so we can see what our future retirement years might look like. This has been an extremely helpful and positive experience, and means that, not only can we look forward to retirement with greater clarity and knowledge about our finances, we also have time to make adjustments if necessary to ensure we will have enough provision for the future.

It is still early days with regards to the actual investments and respective performance, but I feel I am in safe hands with Ross. Ross has helped me to understand my current financial position and is supporting me with future financial planning now I am in retirement.
