What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

The NHS pension scheme and its complexity and sudden charges on the pension in 2019/2020. Amit did many free talks to doctors and fully explained the nature of the pension scheme set up

I reached out to Amit as he was personable, approachable, understanding and most importantly, patient. He really brought it down to basics and walked me through the pension scheme. He offered and looked at my personal finances/situation and did the calculations so very quickly and efficiently as my own accountant was not even aware of the NHS pension scheme issues. Amit went above and beyond and advised me what to do and again, patiently explained the meaning of all the NHS pension scheme complexity (...and to do this day, I keep asking Amit the same things over and over, and he always kindly explains, when others would get frustrated with me :) I asked Amit to pay for all his troubles and he simply said no but if I must, to pay a donation to a good cause and not him! That's why i chose to do investments with the company he is with...because of Amit! He still continues to offer me free advice on the NHS pension scheme while looking after my investments with his company. Basically, I am really grateful for all of Amit's efforts.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes...he helped me avoid paying tax in 2019/20 on my NHS pension scheme by getting me to do "scheme pays". Now, in 2024, he has quickly done for me the numbers again (given the new ruling) and now he has helped me submit a likely reversal of the "Scheme pays" as I was likely overcharged. Again, Amit just works around me and ensures I can get things done quickly. He knew this reversal needs to be done before dealing 31st Jan. He took time out of his busy day to sort my own individual issue and that's really an asset any company can have. It's just the personal touch that I have not seen ever with any financial institution in my personal experience. This is why I will go with the company; because of him!

What could they have done better?

Nothing...Amit is just the right person in the right place and for me, at the right time! His enthusiasm for his work is obvious as he really does explain things so clearly and easily! When he sits me down for a yearly chat, he always does quick illustrations with graphs and charts but just breaks everything down nicely and clearly and speaks to me at an easy level. He takes on all my questions (none too silly) and really just makes me understand. Unfortunately, I am not good at retention but Amit always is available for any repeat questions and is just simply approachable at any time.

Amit is very proactive, approachable and friendly and regularly keeps me updated with any relevant information impacting my pensions. He arranges annual visits to my house to take me through any developments and advise me if any changes are recommended. He also also seamlessly managed the transfer of a number of private pensions all consolidated into one. I would have no hesitation at all to recommend and already have done so to a friend.

Amit has been superb - pensions were a pretty scary area for me - no idea if I'd got enough cash & whether it was invested in the right products. Amit removed the terror & replaced it with joy!!! Given me really great options & has illustrated them well for me. Keeps the technical jargon to an absolute minimum & then explains the technicalities in a way that you can understand. At no point does he put you under any pressure either

Yep - with Amits advice I am all set to retire at the point when I hoped to.....earlier than I had expected

What could they have done better?

Provided chocolate!!! I genuinely cannot say that there was anything that he could have done better on
