We needed advice on how to best manage our finances for the longer term. This included having several pensions, self employment questions and the best way to manage impending retirement.

Early days yet, but I can clearly see how the finances are being managed and always get a quick resopnse to any queries we have.

Daniel has excellent communication skills and explained some more complex concepts in plain language, reinforcing the points/projections with a range of tools/graphics. He has clarified our current position and importantly has made our furture planning much more understandable than it was before taking advice.

Prior to taking Voluntary redundancy, starting to draw my 2 workplace pensions and set up to work as semi retired self employed, around a large health problem I contacted Matt, Daniel's father and first advisor.

Yes, on the whole the investments and strategy we have put in place, monitored and reviewed regularly have performed really well for us and there are positive signs that recovery from the global crisis is starting to take effect. We are in a good position.

I wanted more information about what was involved in transferring from my Company Pension scheme to a Personal Pension. What were the potential benefits and or pitfalls. I knew some of my colleagues had done this but wanted to understand more about what the risks were and whether my circumstances and aspirations matched this way forward.

Dan listened to my requirements, we discussed my understanding of the Personal Pension solutions, my risk appetite and my plans for retirement. Dan presented a comprehensive report showing facts and figures that helped me understand and decide on what was the best approach for me. Yes, absolutely. I now have a personal pension which is forecast to provide me the income level I need throughout my retirement. I have a long term financial plan which I review with Dan annually. I'm a client of MDM wealth set up Matt, Daniels father and I have been passed onto to Daniel from Matt (obviously with my permission) to do my annual pension review

While we started out solely looking at my pension we are private landlords and soon moved onto our property portfolio and how it can best work for us in the future with regards to inheritance tax and care fees etc. Daniel came up with a good solution for inheritance tax by suggesting taking out life insurance which although may be fairly obvious none of the other people I have spoken to in this field have come up with this solution

Yes definitely I would say so far so good I will be speaking to Daniel again with regards to estate planning and our property portfolio also about my wife's pension planning

Obviously this was my first meeting with Daniel and the proof of the pudding is in the eating so to speak. but Daniel came across very professional and confident without being pushy. He answered all my questions and he also has his dad Matt behind him who has handled my pension for a number of years

I was looking to take early retirement and I needed to make sure I had all of the information to hand to make that decision.

How has Daniel Martin helped you?

I needed all the background information on whether I keep my pension of 43 years in the company I had worked for or to take the pot, invest it and drawdown accordingly. Dan was excellent in providing the pro’s and con’s for both options and he explained in very simple layman’s terms the intricacies of pensions. His advice enabled me to make an informed decision about the direction I took.

Absolutely. My investments have grown and despite the unique circumstances we have all faced in the last two years, I’m now, barring a world disaster, financially sound for life and more importantly, my wife will be should anything happen to me.

What could they have done better?

In truth, not a lot. Ordinarily face to face reviews would have taken place, which I found really useful, but we couldn’t do that due to Covid but Dan had an excellent set up through zoom. That’s harder than face to face so I’m looking forward to our first meeting at their new premises.
