What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had the opportunity to transfer out of a (closed) Final Salary Pension Scheme, at what appeared to be a very attractive multiple.

How has Graham Slater helped you?

Graham provided a very balanced view of the pros and cons of leaving the scheme, and modelled various options. Haven then executed the transfer from my employer's scheme into a new provider's retirement account structure.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes - albeit there were initial delays in getting the new structure set up (due tot he provider, not due to Haven). Graham ensured that the provider was chased and that a fair compensation offer was received.

What could they have done better?

The only comment I would pass here is that the provider recommended to me was setting up a new scheme / product, and did not have infrastructure in place to cope with demand. I would have given greater thought to alternative providers had I known this was such a new offering.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had different pensions from different company schemes I'd had set-up by the various employers and I didn't have a clue where I was up to with them.

I knew Graham from a business network club I attended and was always impressed with the warm, confident way he came across , so I decided to set-up a one2one meeting with him yo discuss my pension situation. After sharing any paperwork and known pensions I had, he explained very clearly where things were but also how he could rectify the situation very quickly and after sharing my needs and goals, he got to work on sorting things out.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely delighted with the outcome. Graham got in-touch with all the various pension plans/schemes and transferred them over to a single company. He also discovered that one of the policies had a surprisingly high transfer value, so it enabled him to transfer a large amount of money I didn't even know i had into the the one place.

What could they have done better?

Graham and his staff are in regular contact, if anything, I'd be more critical of myself for not always making myself available for the reviews they set-up.

So far so good. It hasn't been a full year yet so not had a review but believe all on track to,date.

Unable to think of anything. All explained in a clear manner, followed up in writing and all information needed to make a decision was provided.

I was considering transferring out my two final salary pensions and also needed advice on what to do with a couple of other 'pots' I had.

Graham evaluated the pensions I had and advised a transfer for the final salary pensions. I found him to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He provided clear and balanced advice and recommended an apporopriate new pension provider after considering my attitude to risk.

The transfer went through very smoothly and more quickly than I was expecting. Graham's assistant provided helpful updates so I was kept well informed through the process.
