My wife and I had an array of pensions, investments, ISAs etc, and they had become cumbersome to deal with, and we wanted one holistic approach to financial planning and getting our affairs in order

He has taken time to produce a fact finding report in to our exact circumstances in terms of incomes, retirement age, pensions, investments, ISAs, and what our aspirations are for the future.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes we have seen a good outcome; all of our pensions, investments, ISAs etc are easy to manage and in one place now and at a much lower cost than our previous providers. Plus we get the benefit of Mark's experience and knowledge to navigate through changes in circumstances, growth of income

I am very happy with the service overall; Mark took time to actually come and sit down with us on a number of occasions face-to-face, which is important for me when dealing with important issues like finances

I had reached a point whereby I was uncomfortable managing my investments by myself; I felt I needed professional financial planning to help me achieve my long term goals looking towards my retirement and beyond.

How has Mark Galligan helped you?

Mark has been my financial adviser for c. 12 years. During this time his advice has enabled me to build a well balanced portfolio of investments that, overall, have performed well through the peaks and troughs of the somewhat turbulent markets that we have experienced during the last few years. Mark is excellent at explaining products including the features, benefits, risks, etc. so that I have a full understanding of all of the investments that he has recommended.

My initial adviser who had worked with me for many years had died and after a period without an adviser I met Mark who was giving a presentation locally. I liked his personality and decided to ask him to help me with planning my investments

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

The sale of a property released a lump sum that required investment.

How has Mark Galligan helped you?

Mark has provided a financial plan on a broad spectrum of platforms which are medium risk. This has provided me with a further source of income to supplement my NHS pension. I trust Mark implicitly - as someone who is a novice regarding financial investments he is able to explain matters to me clearly and concisely.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes Mark advised at the outset of the process in 2019 that this was a good time to invest and I am very pleased with the yield. He has also further advised that the yield will not be as good currently due to global factors.

I was in a position where I had funds that I wanted to invest but did not have sufficient knowledge to make my funds work effectively over the long term to my retirement and beyond so sought the help of an independent financial adviser.

How has Mark Galligan helped you?

Mark helped by initially spending time to understand my goals and objectives not just from a financial point of view but also for my life in general. We then completed a detailed fact find to establish my attitude to risk and also discussed different strategies to deliver my financial and life objectives. He produced a detailed report that reflected our discussions and included recommendations which encompassed an overriding strategy supported by a suite of products to deliver the strategy. Since my initial investment over 10 years ago I have made further investments and, in addition, Mark has advised me on other important financial matters such as my pension, retirement income and inheritance planning. In addition to ad hoc discussions normally relating to individual products, Mark and I meet at least once a year ensure that I am still on track to achieve my financial goals.

Yes, I am very pleased with the advice that Mark has provided and also the performance of the investments that he has recommended for me.
