What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My parents have substantial wealth meaning that my sisters and I would have a large inheritance tax charge when they die. I did some research on several financial advisors and companies on the internet to see if we could get advice in this area. I found John and his company through their website and introduced him to my parents and my sisters. He was professional and was able to help our situation, which we were extremely pleased with. John was also able to help me personally with advice on my pensions and helped improve my portfolio. Previously, although I’ve always invested into pensions I’ve never had anyone monitor this or the performance for me on a regular basis with “active management”. I also didn’t really understand why pensions were a good way to invest until he explained things to me in an easy to understand way.
