One of may past employers wanted to close their pension scheme and offered to pay for an advisor to help transfer pension to a new scheme. I also had pension from other previous employments so created a personal pension by consolidating most of them

Yes. I have a healthy pesion and use drawdowns rather than buying an annuity as I have other employer pensions and State pension that gives me an adequate monthly income

What could they have done better?

There is a lot of paperwork required to make a drawdown. I some respects I can understand the need for financial oversight but with my circumstances I use this pension as basically a savings account and draw down when required, usually once per year

Pensions management is complicated, even for those of us who have worked in the financial services industry. I was looking to go into a drawdown arrangement and needed some independent advice to help me do this.
