What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was looking for advice on: 1. My defined benefit pension scheme 2. A CGT liability 3. Investment of non-pension savings

How has David Buckley helped you?

I had a number of company pensions dotted around and was looking to centralise them. In addition I had a CGT bill to pay and wanted some advice on that too. David has been very helpful in orchestrating the centralisation of my pension pot on to one platform spread across multiple funds. In addition, he was able to recommend a tax specialist for my CGT liability.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely, 100%

What could they have done better?

I’m not sure there was anything that David could have done better. He has shown himself to be attentive, knowledgeable and easy to deal with.

I've never used a financial advisor before but moving from self-employment to full-time allowed me to start laying solid financial foundations and it felt like the appropriate time to seek expert help.

How has David Buckley helped you?

David has helped me to setup a private pension, insurance and protection cover and most recently source and setup an appropriate S&S ISA. David spent time to understand my financial background and my goals. I have always had an allergy towards salesy IFA's who seem to be focused on 90% new business generation and 10% advice. David is different - he feels to me more like 90% advisor and only 10% new business generation, which is how I prefer it.

How has David Buckley helped you?

David has helped me review my personal financial situation and look at different options for my pension, savings and mortgage. Four years ago David reviewed my current pension and explained options to increase the fund (high/medium risk investment) and he would be monitor and advice on action if needed. I receive annual updates and my projected fund has increased more that the previous fund would have performed. David also looked into my life insurance plan and on this occasion he advised me that my current plan was the best option, therefore no reason to change. My fixed rate mortgage still had a year to run and David showed me calculator and explained that even with paying the redemption fee to leave this, it would save me a substantial amount of money per month if I moved to a lower rate mortgage that was available at the time. David offered advice in a friendly, professional, "non-pushy" manner. Most importantly his advice has worked for me, I would definitely recommend.

Yes as mentioned above, my pension fund has increased (higher than the fund it was invested in) and following David's advice, I changed mortgage and saved money on interest and was able to bring my monthly mortgage bill down.

What could they have done better?

Leave me some biscuits in my tin? Seriously I feel David was honest and looked the best options for me, therefore nothing I can think off.
