Partly, the advice is focussed on my needs rather than flogging new products to get commissions which I suffered with my former adviser. On the downside my pension , Company and ISA assets were passed to Fiducia’s in-house managers and I am not convinced they have always added value compared to the alternatives. The advice on other investments placed outside the in-house team have been very pleasing such as the VCTs and the Octopus investment initially used for our Company investment before that closed.

The bias towards the in-house investment team may limit a desire to recommend alternative investments.

I made appointments with a few of the IFA's I had selected. I had a checklist and questionnaire and Susie came out top on my requirements. Once we agreed the terms we progressed to completing the pension transfer.

Yes, except that as soon as we were at the committed, no turning back stage, Susie was offered a better job elsewhere and left.

What could they have done better?

Not leave. In reality, I managed to complete the rest myself, with the help of the office administrators. I am now back into a professional relationship with the new company that Susie has joined
