What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I initially had various work and personal pension funds, I was losing track of what was where. Mark contacted all relevant pensions and placed all into one fund, this was back in 2013.

He initially placed all pensions into one fund. I then sold my business in June 2024, my level of investment potential increased. With Mark's advice, we have a financial portal that earns interest, we have ISA's, Investment Bonds and the original Pension fund. Mark is also very good at cutting through financial jargon and explaining to those not so au fait with the intricacies of the products, in a way that we can understand.

In the 12 years Mark has worked with me, we have seen growth on our investments.

I originally found Mark through recommendation to look after my mother's relatively significant funds. I needed to ensure that she had an adequate income for her later years. The implications of getting it wrong for her meant that it was imperative to find not just the right solution, but most importantly the right person to work with for the long term.

How has Mark Thompson helped you?

Mark has looked after my mother's finances and achieved for her exactly what we set out at the beginning. Mark has also managed the transfer of my pension to a private scheme, and in doing so has secured significant growth, as well as giving me the flexibility I needed from the funds. He has managed some difficult financial decisions with me, and helped me achieve exactly the outcome I needed.

Yes, I set out the goals initially with Mark that we wanted to achieve and arrived at a realistic mutually agreeable plan. Mark's calm and methodical manner has ensured that we achieved exactly the outcome we needed.

What could they have done better?

Mark has been superb throughout all of my dealings with him. I think its important when dealing with professionals such as Mark, the client needs to have a realistic expectation of what can be achieved and an understanding that good advice and service does not come free. I set out my dealings with Mark on this basis and have not been disappointed in any area of the service he has delivered.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We were not satisfied with our previous IFA.

How has Mark Thompson helped you?

He has been very efficient and persistent in moving our portfolios from our previous IFA to new portals which look more promising and has explained the rationale of this very well. He is personable and gives us a feeling of confidence in his organisation. He keeps us well informed of how things are doing and advises us clearly on the next things we need to pay attention to.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We have in terms of his personal efficiency in transferring our portfolios, and following up on actions, but as we are only in the first few months cannot comment on our longer term expectations, though he has given good reasons for the approach.
