Linda Shrier - had need of help with investments and tax advice. Intitially service provided by Andy Rowe’s predecessor.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Our finances now being managed jointly (with individual needs addressed as well) have given us confidence that our needs are being understood and cared for. Andy’s style of delivering advice and provision of clear and patient explanation is appreciated and he is thoughtful and responsive with a helpful style of communication.

Initially I was seeking advice on leaving a company scheme and transferring out to a private pension arrangement.

Andy guided me through all the requirements and implications of transferring out, including the various risks involved. Together we have put in place a retirement strategy for my wife and I that I believe is achievable and will have durability. Since completing this Andy has provided detailed retirement advice as I approach the age when I can begin pension drawdown. He is totally open to discussion, does not judge or put any pressure on any aspect of my arrangements, e.g. associated with level of risk, rather he works to ensure that everything is aligned with this.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Mostly yes, however, as we get frequently reminded...the value of your investments can go up and down...not so long ago we were enjoying almost double-digit returns, but even through the vagaries of the pandemic, and more recently the USA tariff debacle, things seem to holding out sufficiently, there's no panic, and the strategy remains in place.

What could they have done better?

Honestly, I'm not sure there's much to say. The initial transfer out was quite a leap of faith, and Andy was very clear throughout that this was my decision to make, albeit based on the information and predictions he provided. There's not much more Andy could have done in terms of reassurance, especially giving the tight rules around such transfers, had I felt pressured or unsure I probably would not have gone ahead.
