Ross Crake of Osprey Wealth Management Ltd has provided excellent advice for pension transfer, ISA’s and a will trust investment. He provides full answers to questions posed and leaves you in no doubt that he has listened and understood your objectives and priorities and responds accordingly. Ross was courteous and generous with his time, listened to all of my questions, and provided a good broad overview of my options. This was with regard to potential early retirement, and the feasibility of generating enough income from my pensions and investments. Ross was extremely polite, concise and helpful. I only had brief dealings with him, as I later found my original Financial Advisor from my Company Pension scheme. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Requirement to transfer out of a defined pension scheme and consolidate personal pension funds into one Collective Pension Investment fund. Analysis of existing investment funds which were wrongly weighted and needed re-assigning. Advice required with regard to investing new funds available post probate from an estate. Requirement to move my daughters child ISA which was under performing. Advice required on IHT.

How has Ross Crake helped you?

Initially we discussed what I needed in the future from my investments and developed a game plan to achieve those goals. Some existing investments were kept but others which did not represent a balanced portfolio were re-invested and everything placed under one investment platform, Old Mutual Wealth, which greatly improved transparency and allowed me to review all of my portfolio on one site at any time. I subsequently needed to transfer out of a defined retirement benefit scheme and following advice from Ross and a referral had the pension reviewed by a specialist pension firm and Ross handled the transfer into my Collective retirement fund. Following the death of my father I received a lot of help from Ross in evaluating a confused portfolio and in some cases moving investments to reinforce the investment portfolio structured by him. I wanted to review my daughters child ISA and following advice was able to maximise contributions in an individually tailored fund with a much improved prospect of long term growth. I also set up a pension fund for her, something I had never considered before but great advice given the years of prospective growth. I am receiving advice on an ongoing basis on tax positioning and IHT.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

After nearly four years with Ross I now feel I have a structured financial position with ongoing reviews that reflect changing personal and market situations. I am also confident that both myself and my family are now well catered for financially in the long term. Nobody foresaw the chaos that Covid 19 would impose on the financial markets and it is testament to the robustness of the portfolio that was put together for me that all those initial losses have been recovered and indeed are now growing once again.

What could they have done better?

To date I do not have any issues and feel that I have received good advice and transparent and timely dealings.

I have used AIS pensions for the past 23 years. John Sheffield's was one of the few financial advisers at that time who offered pension reviews so i knew exactly how my pensions and ISA's were performing. J.S. was against up front charges of funds which i agreed. He also communicated over the phone so i was able to stay focused on my financial planning.
