I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) with clients all over the UK, even though I live in Leamington Spa. I am registered as an IFA through 'The Money Map'(Financial Navigation) Ltd which has its head office in Sheffield - although I AM BASED IN LEAMINGTON SPA and I see all my clients in their own homes and/or offices, wherever they are! Before becoming an IFA, 28 years ago, I was an educational inspector in three Local Education Authorities. Subsequently, I became an IFA and then Director and National Sales Manager of two UK-wide independent financial services company and wrote many financial services articles for the press. As an IFA only now (my preference!) , I concentrate totally on looking after my clients by: a) asking the right questions to help identify precisely what they want to achieve b) giving them the best strategies and plans offered by all companies and c) making sure these strategies are delivering as promised - through two annual catch-ups/reviews on valuations and plan strategies. My motto in financial services has always been very client-centred: "Listen to what people want and need; deliver the best strategies, plans and companies to achieve those goals; and agree twice-yearly review meetings to ensure those plans and strategies remain the best." I also believe that explaining things in plain English and making financial planning enjoyable (!) ensures lasting and trusting relationships with my clients. I ensure that my advice for each client is always the most appropriate and independently selected and I never assume that 'one size always fits all'. I have been happily married to Julia for 24 years and we have two fabulous children of 23 and 18. I also keep my mind and body fit through working out in the gym 6 times a week and enjoying the company of good friends and family. I have also been a (part-time) semi-professional actor - touring many shows and regularly performing a one-man show at the Edinburgh Festival. I get the greatest satisfaction in getting to know my financial services clients and helping them to achieve the very best investment, retirement and protection strategies. I enjoy reviewing these strategies and plans with my clients, twice a year, to ensure that: a) the strategies remain appropriate b) fund performances are delivering as promised and c) I continue to deliver as promised. The first meeting is free - so that you can take your time to indicate precisely what you want to achieve. I will listen, clarify and help identify your key aims and objectives so that I can provide you with detailed research, report and recommendations objectives. Although our initial fee would be £500, if you subsequently proceeded with my recommendations, that fee would be included in the overall fees of between 1% and 3% of total plan values - for implementing my recommendations. So....let's have an initial meeting!
