I wanted some advice on remortgaging my home.

How has Harj Heer helped you?

He recommended that I stay with my existing offset mortgage and ask them to extend the term, which I had not realised was a possibility. That turned out to be the best option. What I was very impressed by was that he knew that staying with my existing lender would mean he would earn nothing from this advice. Since then, I have asked Harj for personal financial advice on an occasional ad hoc basis for a few years now. I have always found his advice very good, unbiased and useful.

Having financial Power of Attorney for my mother's finances, she needed help with planning for care fees and estate planning

Harjeet and his team gathered a complete round-up of my mother's finances and her estate, and spoke to us both about what she needed to get for their service. He then prepared a cashflow plan covering various long-term care scenarios, to show that she had enough funds to cover her care costs for the rest of her life. The plan also suggested how to restructure her funds to mitigate risk more effectively, and products for estate planning to minimise inheritance tax. Harjeet has also been helpful in acting as a sounding board and providing advice when I'm making decisions about my mother's finances.

A significant restructure of my mother's investments coincided with a big downturn in global financial markets. In retrospect, it would have been better to spread out the process of restructuring the investments to smooth out the impact of such volatility.

Up until retirement my employers handled both my Final Salary and Defined Contribution pensions. My husband and I were looking to put life insurance and critical illness cover in palace, as the cover we had was inadequate. We are both key workers and in view of the current situation we wanted to ensure that the children are adequately protected should something happen to us.

How has Harj Heer helped you?

Harj made a very stressful situation very easy. He found the best deals for us, talked us through them explaining in very simple terms what was being offered. He understood our requirements immediately and the process was complete within a week, despite the problems that he faced because of the lockdown. The professionalism and advise that we received from Harj and the support from his team was exemplary. We have used financial advisers before but Harj was in a league of his own. I cannot recommend him enough.

Yes we have. In addition, Harj is continuing to look at the cover that is in place to ensure that it continues to protect us adequately. I wish I had known about Harj when we were buying our house - I would have used him for mortgage advice too!

What could they have done better?

I know this is not helpful but I genuinely do not have any recommendations (and trust me this is unusual for me!). My usual complaint is communication but Harj was exemplary in this respect, he always responded to emails in a timely fashion, kept us updated, always answered our calls and if he couldn't he would call us back. We are truly grateful for the help and advice that Harj provided, particularly as we were so stressed whilst arranging this cover.

Harj helped me understand how I could move forward with my longer term finances to achieve some very specific personal objectives despite facing a challenging personal situation

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

To date the process is going well and I am confident that in time the outcomes will be positive both personally and financially.

What could they have done better?

The team at Logic treat me as a person, not a spreadsheet or number - I have been dealt with as someone with very specific needs and this makes dealing with the finances less stressful. The team respond very promptly and make time to see me as required. The supporting information and platforms allow easy access to the detials and the team are always on hand to answer questions. At this stage I have no reason to comment on how the team could improve on the experience or services.

Thanks to Harj, we are both very comfortable with our current situation. We have no financial worries hanging over us. Our retirement is one of contentment. We can happily afford our world travel plans. Life now holds promise not disaster.

What could they have done better?

I cannot thank Harj enough for his continued support. His suggestions opened my eyes to other possibilities. I don't believe that he could have done anything better - he did his best and we achieved financial independence. Can't ask for more!

As we were looking to plan our retirement we took advise from Harj on the options we had with our current pension provisions.

How has Harj Heer helped you?

Like many people we were under the impression that we needed to work until we were 65 to get the best options from our final salary schemes - but Harj pointed out that was not the case. He gave professional sound advice on which schemes we should keep and which would give us better returns if transferred out.

Yes - we will both be retiring earlier than planned.

Harj was available all the time to answer our concerns and explain everything logically - not sure he could have done anything better.

I was looking into the potential to retire early and Harj was recommended to me by a number of colleagues who have used him in the past and who were very happy with the service he had provided to them.

How has Harj Heer helped you?

Harj was very thorough, patient and knowledgeable in all of the Pension areas, both for Final salary and for draw-down options. He made the somewhat complex financial world easier to understand and was not at all put out by the number of questions asked or their simplicity. this was all presented in a easy to understand package.

Yes. by the time we had completed our meetings i knew exactly what my options were and the best way for me to progress given my own set of personal circumstances.

When my mother moved into a retirement home I needed to invest the money for the sale of her house to provide an income for her.

How has Harj Heer helped you?

I met with Harj several times and he was immensely helpful in explaining the various options, helping me make sense of my mother's finances. I also took my mother to meet him and he was so patient and understanding. He took care of the purchase of the annuity and has always been there when I needed his advice. I live in San Francisco so it has been invaluable and reassuring to know that he and his colleagues will respond swiftly and efficiently to any question I may have, whether by phone or by email. I have complete confidence in him and in his advice.

Harj was amazing. He is so personable and really knowledgeable too. We had an initial discussion and then a meeting, both of which were really helpful. Harj helped me to see what I needed to do to achieve my goals and make sure that everything was taken care of.

Not being anything of an expert in financial matters but being very concerned about them I needed some one to do the leg-work involved in securing an acceptable financial future. Complete confidence in the person giving the advice was essential

How has Harj Heer helped you?

Harj investigated my personal circumstances and I was confident he understood my requirements, particularly my attitude to risk. He has then provided annual reviews and ongoing recommendations for changes. Sometimes this has involved significant changes but at other times very little change has been required which again gives confidence that only necessary changes are being advised. Sometimes the balance between cash and investments has not been exactly what Harj would prefer but he is willing to stay within guidelines with which I am most comfortable.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I have seen growth of the portfolio which has been very satisfactory overall, even in difficult times. At no time have I felt that I was being persuaded along a path that I was uncomfortable with. The reports provided before and after the annual review have been clear and concise.

What could they have done better?

Difficult to think of anything specific. Like most financial subjects the "jargon" is sometimes hard to follow on paper and maybe could be explained in more detail in the reports. Similarly a little more information on tax liabilities could also be useful.
