What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Alan has been known to my family for a number of years and he has helped me to plan for a financially stable future. Alan's focus is on understanding the individual needs of his clients, rather than treating them as just a number on a spreadsheet. After my wife passed away, I was in some financial distress and Alan and his team stepped up and helped me to organise my finances so that my financial future was more secure.

Alan has given advice regarding stabilising my financial future, as well as supporting me through the difficult time when my wife passed. He helped to deal with the complexities of this unexpected event and supported me with the complex paperwork that this event generated. After the event, his advice and support has helped me to secure a more financially secure base. His advice has allowed me to being to plan for a more comfortable retirement. His advice regarding investments has also been secure and I have seen my investments rise over the years, even though the financial environment has been challenging recently. It is the human approach that Alan and his team use that make them excellent in their support. Alan has been an excellent advisor to my elderly mother and has helped them to reclaim pension payments that they were due to after the collapse of the company my father had worked for for over 30 years.

Alan has more than delivered the outcomes that I had been hoping for. His advice had a profound effect on my personal finances and he has helped to put me on a more secure financial footage than I would have thought possible. His advice on tax returns and pension contributions for example have been spot on, and his response to email queries and information provided are always on point.

What could they have done better?

I don't believe Alan could have done any better in the service that he offers to his clients. Alan understands his clients on a personal level and this informs the advice that he gives. It is not a one size fits all model, but more a bespoke model that meets to needs of each individual client

Like most people I wanted to try to maximise my some of my earnings by investing long term in stocks and shares, however I was completely ignorant of what to do so I decided to go and look to get advice. This ultimately lead to meeting Alan.

He told me I was wasting his time and anybody else's time that I would contact due to my querying the cost of services. I found him to be very rude!
