What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We have got to a stage in our lives where we can either carry on working, or start spending more time travelling and enjoying more free time. We wanted to find an adviser that could help us answer that question, while we still have time to react accordingly. Previously we have sought financial advice from different experts, Accountants, solicitors bankers etc. Whilst their advice has been helpful, we realised 2 things. 1. Even though they are all experts in their field, their advice was often disjointed and sometimes contradictory. Its like putting together a puzzle without knowing what the picture is. 2. We don't know, what we don't know and subsequently don't know what questions to ask to get the correct answers for our situation. Financial planning is a daunting subject and we were looking for someone that could explain it in plain English.

How has Jon Rose helped you?

Getting decent advice costs a lot of time and money and we really wanted to find someone that could help us fill in the missing pieces. You can't plan anything if you don't actually know where you are. Jon and his team spent a lot of time fact finding. Not only on the financial side, they also asked what our plans are short, mid and long term. Jon was able to offer advice for all different scenarios. He is really knowledgable on all fronts, tax, pensions, mortgages, stocks, to name a few! He is also a property investor himself so his advice on that subject has been incredibly helpful. We now know that he is our go to person for any financial query we might have.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Jons approach is completely different to any other financial advice we have come across as he looked at our situation from every angle. Through doing this exercise, we were able to see, on paper, exactly where we currently stand financially. Having asked us some thought provoking questions through doing a life coaching session (not something we normally would have considered doing!), we figured out how we would like our lives to continue. Jon was then able to set out a financial plan on how and just as importantly, when we will be able to afford to do the things we would like to do and have a comfortable retirement. Our ultimate question to Jon was will we have enough to have the retirement we would like and if not what can we change now in order to do so. Jon was able to answer all our questions, even the ones we didn't know we should be asking!

What could they have done better?

Nothing - its a "one stop shop" for all things to do with financial planning which ultimately saves clients time and money.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted my Wills & LPA's pdated and review my pension and investment structures

How has Jon Rose helped you?

He has been excellent - breaks things down in a simple manner - my Will's & LPA's are now in place as are my parents. My pension contributions have been increased and a new Sipp opened. I have a better understanding of my wealth and how much I need to have the retirement lifestyle I would like.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes - now just getting the life insurance in place to secure the family

What could they have done better?

Nothing really just wish i had done it earlier - it took me a while to get to grips with everything being virtual but now they have that fine-tuned - one of the impacts of covid
