We had an initial meeting with Dom and his colleague Dan to determine our objectives and get an idea of what we want from Expert Wealth in the future. It was a very thorough, indepth discussion which we found extremely helpful, We left feeling very reassured that we will be in very capable hands. We met other members of the team, Kerry and Dan and felt there is a very positive, cheerful and collaborative team culture which bodes well for the future! What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Having the ability to choose upon retirement where and how my employment accumulated pension would be best allocated .The choice was between an annuity or a Sipp I felt a financial adviser would help me make the right choice.

Dominic initially ran me through both options presenting a clear picture of the benefits and restraints of each, this without making a biased case for either. Constructive discussions were held to enable a decision to be made that would benefit me and my goals as I moved into retirement

The services that are offered cover probably all requirements as you move through the various stages of your life. It would help if a path of services available was presented as a plan similar to a critical path analysis to stimulate thoughts to ensure you take the right action in time for your own and dependants financial protection

I was looking at retiring early and sought advice as to whether my pensions would cover my requirements. Also I wanted my savings to work harder.

How has Dominic Spalding helped you?

He is very calm and precise with his recommendations and very approachable. Knowledgeable with how and where to invest.

Not totally but it is a long term process and will take time.

What could they have done better?

It is still quite earlier in the process. There is a structure to our meetings. We should discuss my investments a bit more and how they are performing.

His deep knowledge and understanding of pensions and investments helped me to reach a retirement in which I feel confident about my and my wife's financial positions. He took on a lot of the worry I had previously been dealing with (including worry about previous my financial advisers and their competence). During our introductory meeting with Dom, we certainly received what one would hope for and expect: a professional approach, a friendly meeting, a thorough exploration of our financial situation and clear explanation of his approach to investing and the way the firm monitors the investment platforms and funds they use. Certainly no time pressure or indeed any other pressures! However, the bonus was his gentle but probing questions about our financial aspirations – well beyond the more obvious ‘keep up with inflation’ or ‘money in case we need it’. He encouraged us to think about what any savings/investments are really for now that we have retired. What does help from a financial advisor look like to us? How would we would cope with relinquishing responsibility for our investments to him? This holistic approach was enlightening and reassuring. A great and inspiring start!

I was seeking financial guidance as a couple of my workplace pensions were about to start, and I had a number of other pensions that I wanted to ensure were used in the best way possible, and at the right phasing.

Dominic has helped me think of wider issues and life planning, and given me the time and space to think creatively and positively about future options. I particularly wanted professional and impartial advice on a number of small pension pots, and the best way forward. With the present restrictions in place we were unable to meet with Dom in person. However, using zoom, we discussed our hopes and aspirations at length with him and were put at ease with his understanding of these. Essentially with everything financial, Dominic provided serious, considered advice, proffering different options and the potential up and down side to each of them. I misunderstood one of his letters and he sat me down talked me through my misunderstanding slowly and clearly. I ended up making an excellent decision given my circumstances.

Yes, the outcome is actually better than I thought it would be . Not on,y that but Dominic helped through the whole process over about 5 years where every outcome has actually better than I thought it would be.

Nothing comes to mind, appointments were always on time, detailed notes of every meeting were provided , the staff were excellent, professional and friendly, the offices were interesting to visit, not many office have a well in the middle of them! It is a well rounded service with both face to face meeting and an on,one service during covid. First class.

Personal recommendations and our dissatisfaction with the impersonal and inefficient ways both personal pension and portfolio were being managed by large high-street banks resulted in our transferring the management of all our funds to Expert Wealth. · Initially, while still in full-time employment, we were extremely busy with day to day life but useful, friendly meetings showed how our funds were being carefully and successfully managed and inspired confidence in your advice. Initially because I wanted to take early retirement due to ill-health and I needed pensions advice. Subsequently, because my faher had left me a legacy and I needed investment advice.

How has Dominic Spalding helped you?

Dominic has helped me on two occasions: once to successfully sort out my pension to enable me to take early retirement (I am disabled), then again to help me invest the legacy I received from my father. What I love about Dominic’s approach is that he treats money as a means to an end, not as an end in itself: he carefully helped me to work out what my priorities are, what I want out of life and what income I need, and when, in order to achieve those ends. Frankly, I don’t understand finance and it terrifies me: Dominic has given me good, reliable advice (in plain English!) and I trust his guidance. I was approaching an age when I had the option to retire.

When I started to seriously consider early retirement I wanted expert unbiased help to be certain that retirement was going to be achievable and sustainable. Expert Wealth was able to prompt me to ask the right questions of my pension providers and steered me to pull together information on various aspects of my finances. They were able to provide projections and scenarios that gave me the confidence to put an early retirement plan into action. After retiring I asked Expert Wealth to review our finances on a regular basis. I wanted help to simplify things as much as possible so that my constant input was not necessary. I also wanted to know that my savings were working effectively, that I was not overspending or just as importantly, not underspending. With Expert Wealth's help I believe that I now have an arrangement in place that is able to handle the challenges of a hopefully long retirement.

Although the plan is not complete I would say that we are about %85 of the way through implementation and to date it has achieved all that I have asked for.

Having decided that I needed a plan I also discovered that I needed the services of an accountant and a solicitor. Upon retirement I needed advice as to the best options for providing an income in retirement.

Having retired and with access to my pension funds. I felt benefits could be gained from alternatives rather than a national pension company or buying an annuity. My first experience with a F/A was somewhat disappointing, so I set some parameters and began searching for one that fitted my criteria. I wanted a small operation who were interested in working for my objectives, and not outwardly their own bottom line. In 2007 I found Dominic Spalding and the now Expert Wealth Management Company who fitted my requirements. Dom had a very analytical approach from risk assessment to life objectives and created a portfolio designed for me which despite market crashes has stood the test of time and provided the benefits I was looking for. Dom is always available to answer any queries and I welcome the face to face (prior Covid) meetings where my portfolio is explored to ensure it meets my future plans

As my earnings and savings grew, I lacked the expertise to manage and invest them for myself. I also needed somebody to advise on optimal pension/ retirement savings and how best to achieve my aims.

We met Dominic soon after he had set up his first financial advisory business. At the time we had decided it was time to make serious provision for our retirement but had little knowledge about how to set about this. Dominic's advice seemed clear, understandable and practical, so we placed our confidence in him.
