What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?
I divorced 13 years ago and a couple of years later whilst still in the NHS, I wanted to know how to invest money and plan for my future. He came highly recommended by my colleague.
How has Robert Clark helped you?
I met Rob Clark about 10 years ago and he’s managed my savings since then. He asked quite a lot of questions initially and I now understand that his approach is holistic and he believes in individualised financial advice. Rob has always given me excellent guidance and helped me on so many occasions to make the best decisions for me. I am so grateful to him and all the team for their courteous support over the years, and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Absolutely - even through the pandemic. He always has a level head. Recently my investments grew by £18,000 because of the decisions he had recommended.
What could they have done better?
Nothing at all.
Robert:
Thank you for the review and recommendation! The team really appreciate the 5 Stars! It has been a pleasure to be your Adviser over the last 10 or so years and I look forward to working together in the future.Review

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?
Reinvestment of works pension fund.
How has Robert Clark helped you?
Not at all. Cost me £80,000 of my pension when other pension funds made lots of money. Charged me £14,400 for his poor advice.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Definitely not. Now back at work after losing all confidence in pensions and advisers.
What could they have done better?
Recommend a pension company that made money for its clients.
Robert:
We understand that the gentleman is disappointed that, following a very thorough investigation, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) did not uphold his complaint about the advice he received from Newstead Clark. Our advice costs are fully transparent, with full disclosure at the outset. This was a high-risk area of advice which was charged accordingly and which at the time of advice, back in August 2020, was below industry norms. the gentleman was fully aware of the costs involved and agreed these terms at the initial stage of the advice process. Newstead Clark has not been responsible for the ongoing servicing/annual reviews of the gentleman's plan since February 2021. We take any kind of client dissatisfaction very seriously and in this instance, we feel that we have dealt with this individual fairly.First impression
