An independent adviser can advise across a sufficiently diverse range of products to help meet a client’s objectives. They are in no way limited to products provided by companies they work for.

I have been employed in financial services all my working life, starting out in 1996 at what was then known as Norwich Union in their Life and Pensions servicing department. From Norwich Union I joined Virgin Money in 1999 at a time when direct financial services were really taking off, and this was my first experience of dealing directly with customers. I soon realised dealing with people and assisting with their financial services needs and wants was something I really enjoyed. An ambition to become a face to face adviser prompted me to start what was to become over a decade in bancassurance, starting first at HSBC as a mortgage adviser and subsequently spending nearly 7 years at Barclays Financial Planning as an investment adviser. In 2011 Barclays decided to stop providing branch based financial advice, and this led to the next stage of my working career - becoming an Independent Financial Adviser. I am highly fortunate to have a career I genuinely enjoy, working for a company which is ethical and always does the right thing by their clients. Many of my clients have taken advice from me for over 10 years, and my aim when dealing with clients is to build a long term relationship which is mutually beneficial. I want clients to feel they always receive the correct advice at a fair price with a high standard of customer service. Many clients are now friends as I have worked with them for so long! Outside of work I am a passionate Norwich City supporter with a young and rapidly growing family.
