Initially i was looking for someone to advise my aunt on some investments. Unfortunately she died before we were able to do so. As I inherited her estate I found i needed advise myself.

I was approached by Andy, offering advice regarding an under performing long term ISA stocks and shares investment that I had set up via another adviser who is no longer in business.

Following a review of my personal circumstances Andy provided advice regarding options for reinvesting the proceeds from an underperforming legacy ISA fund in a more in a more appropriate product . Having taken early retirement a year ago, Andy has also assisted in reviewing our financial plans and mid / long term investment options. We have as a result transferred a number of existing cash ISAs and new ISA funds to Hoyl investment products.

I am very happy with the advice given, but the timing of the conflict in Ukraine and its impact on the world economy has unfortunately resulted in a disappointing investment fund performance. I am hopeful that the robustness of the investment portfolio will lead to a speedy recovery when financial conditions improve.

Andy has been very supportive in helping us understand investment options and we have been very happy with the service provided. However, I was a little disappointed that Hoyl were unable to action my request to postpone the pending transfer of our cash ISA funds into their funds when I became concerned regarding the potential market impact of the emerging Ukranian conflict.

Before leaving my job of 11 years I needed to know if my various pension schemes were enough to enable me to retire or whether I would need to continue working for a few years more.

How has Andy Ollason helped you?

Andy had pro-actively contacted me a year earlier with regard to an old pension scheme I was enrolled in. However, due to caution and apathy I had not responded! When he contacted me again to give me an annual report I took up his offer to meet in person and perform a review. Andy was able to take the list of pension schemes I had and collect my financial details and outgoings and provide a recommendation. After our second meeting we agreed to transfer the schemes into one draw-down pension fund.

Andy and his team have met the outcome we needed perfectly. All the existing schemes have been effortlessly transferred into the new fund and monthly payments are appearing in the current account. In addition I have regular online reports and am able to manage it remotely.

So far so good. Investment growth thus far has been very satisfactory however these are very turbulent times.

I was looking to release some money from a personal pension to pay off some credit, and also re mortgaging for an extension to my property.

How has Andy Ollason helped you?

Andy and a colleague reviewed both my wife's and my financial situations and advised moving pensions from Prudential to Aegon, unfortunately he was unable to improve on the Barclays deal we now have for our Mortgage.

I cannot think of anything he could have done better, the only gripe I have is the length of time it takes to release the 25% Tax Free from my Wife's Pension, and presumably mine also when i decide to take it. But I guess this is down to the process involved. Time factor alone is not a big issue, unless of course it impacts on a lower amount being paid out because of fluctuating markets.
