Unable to get any interest of worth from Banks or Building societies. Also premium bond average payout has significantly dropped. So I have contacted a small number of Financial Advisers of which Sam was one.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Couple of reasons. First we were about to experience a change in our work career, also our investments would benefit from a revenue and possible update.

Having had dealings with Sam a few years ago we were greatly pleased to have found out that he had taken an opportunity to become an independent adviser. Sam was more than helpful and flexible with meet ups. He soon understood our situation and was able to advise and guide us on good solid investment schemes. Not pushing any one subject.

It is early days as yet, and there is likely to be a bit of a rocky road with any investment. However we feel confident that we have been advised of all the possibilities and that our choice is as good as any in these circumstances.

What could they have done better?

This is quite difficult given that Sam relied somewhat on information provided by us. At times we both came away from a meeting with different perceptions, but then we should have asked questions, or gone back over the topic. All worked out excellent so it was worry over nothing. Hope Sam can keep on as he is with a friendly, thoughtful, and patient style.

I retired, and wanted to transfer my pension out of my Company pension scheme.

Most of my savings were in HSBC ,then they said only £85000 covered if anything went wrong , so I thought best to move some away.
