Joanne provided very prompt and professional advice, support and service. Certain banks were not offering a re mortgage due to claiming Seiss grants and one bank instantly declined a re mortgage due to a recent monthly sim only deal I had set up. Joanne and Cassie both acted swiftly and within a matter of weeks I had my desired outcome. For me it was a tense and stressful time. I am very grateful for their service andI highly recommend Joanne, Cassie and the company.

When I looked to purchase my first home I was very unclear on how the process of mortgages worked and how to select the best deal for me. I was recommended by a friend that they had used Joanne Gott Associates and that it had made the process easy and efficient.

Joanne helped by managing the whole mortgage process from start to finish. This involved advising on the the best mortgage deal to fit my current circumstances, carrying out the technicalities of the application process on my behalf, liaising with the solicitors and keeping me informed of how the mortgage is progressing throughout (all the way to completion).

I needed advice and assistance in obtaining a mortgage for my first home purchase.

How has Joanne Gott helped you?

Joanne walked me step by step through the process of obtaining a mortgage, without even a hint of irritation as I asked her what were probably very silly questions. She also patiently assisted in pushing the purchase through even when things got tough (through no fault of her own) and it looked like I was gonna lose the property!

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. I am typing this review from within the property in question and I'm very happy with the result of Joanne and her colleagues' services.

What could they have done better?

Sometimes it was a little difficult to get into contact with Joanne herself, with her colleagues dealing with matters in her stead. I understand that due to these unprecedented times she was probably incredibly busy, but still it would have been nice to be able to deal with Joanne herself more often rather than need to speak with her assistants.

My husband died in 2018 and I wasn't happy with the firm looking after our financial affairs. A friend recommended Joanne to me and I met with her in 2019. She was really approachable and helpful. organised and knowledgeable and patient in her explanations

We had an Investment portfolio which included Trust Funds which needed sorting, various ISAs maturing at regular intervals and I also received a bequest from a cousin to invest. Joanne explained the advantage of an Investment ISA account and an Investment Plan. She was very professional and prompt in dealing with matters.

As we approached retirement, we needed to invest money from pension funds that had accrued over the years. We felt we didn’t have enough knowledge to make these decisions.

We explained our circumstances to Joanne , giving her information about the various pension pots. Joanne asked us to complete forms showing our attitude to risk , asked us to think about how much money we would need per month in retirement and gave us advice on investing the various pots and receiving income from drawdown .

Yes , we have been very pleased. Joanne has kept us informed and invited us for consultations with her , concerning our investments. Joanne gave us advice on the funds during lockdown, suggesting we draw down less per month which was absolutely the right thing to do.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

About a decade ago, I needed to review my pension savings. Choosing a financial adviser is difficult. There are so many to choose from in the York area. Fortunately a family friend recommended Joanne. And what a great recommendation it has been. With Joanne's guidance, my pensions have grown well, incurred low costs and this year, I have been able to retire early.

How has Joanne Gott helped you?

Initially, Joanne offered pensions saving to suit my risk profile and insurance for my family. Subsequently, I have benefitted from her reviews as I approached my preferred retirement date. This year, Joanne amalgamated my Defined Contribution pensions so that I can commence a drawdown. Joanne's advice, explanations and organisation has enabled me to make these important decisions with both ease and confidence.
