What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Unexpected redundancy made the need for professional help an immediate need, so that we could explore what we could do with minimal pensions and savings.

How has Adam Dent helped you?

Adam has explained what is possible and shown us how an income can be generated. This has taken a few meetings and Adam has always been positive and truthful about what can and cannot be achieved. The most important factor for us was trusting someone, we were at ease with Adam from the first meeting.

It's early stages but yes, hopefully all will work out well.

After the bereavement of my wife, I needed to look at long term investments that would give both my children and myself long term financial security

After initially organising a plan with Penlife, Adam has been pivotal in the financial planing and long term investments. Including insurances to make sure my children would be protected and financially secure should anything happen to me.

I have seen a really good return on all investments made with Adam. You know they are in good hands. I also feel very secure that my children would be well provided for should anything happen to me.

I can not fault Adam or Penlife. Adam is a great communicator and obviously highly competent in his field. You can rest easy with you investments and planning in their hands.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I retired nearly 10 years ago and only had a small personal pension,I needed advice of how I could make this work for me. I received a one to one meeting and found straight away that the adviser (Debbie) spoke in a way I could understand each of the investment plans. I have always received an annual meeting so I am able to ask questions regarding my finances as I’ve inherited from my parents and more recently lost my husband. During these meetings the advisors show a good understanding of my finances and have often been ready with further investment ideas before I ask.

How has Adam Dent helped you?

Adam finds alternative investment schemes for me to consider before our meetings. These schemes provide better interest rates and therefore benefit my small pension.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

In the first few years I was so surprised by the increase my savings had made. I was warned that savings could increase but also decreased because of the state of stocks and shares. When Covid made great changes in the world and countries finances I was advised not to rush into making changes to my investments. The total of my savings has changed but with good advice things are looking good again.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

About eight years ago, we were looking for a financial advisor who could help us plan for our retirement. After some initial research we spoke with Penlife. We liked that they discussed finance in plain English and took time to the time to understand us and our goals.

How has Adam Dent helped you?

Adam has been our advisor for the last three years. He has been extremely helpful in keeping us informed about our pension investments and helping us understand the options for income drawdown, annuities etc. If we don't understand something, we only have to say. We feel that Adam takes time to understand what we consider important and gives financial advice that is right for us. When we meet for our financial reviews, Adam takes time to explain how our pension is performing. He'll check if our circumstances and goals have changed. He then makes sure that we are aware of the options open to us.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Our investments had performed well however in recent years, they have, like most people's investments, been affected by the uncertain world markets. We are not yet at pensionable age so we're happy to continue following Adam's advice.

I retired 2 years ago and I wanted an advisor who I felt I could trust and also 1 who was interested in me as well as in my investment. Adam's colleague Deborah was my first advisor but Adam has been involved with me and my finances from the start - first as an assistant and now as my main advisor. The transition has been seamless and issue free.

Adam and I have communicated a number of times already. At Annual Review we discussed how my investments had performed as well as further issues moving forward. He explained options to me in clear language and with a straightforward, friendly manner.
